Reviews for Rules Are Made To Be Broken |
---|
Guest chapter 1 . 6/1 The real reason that the Rule of Two was created was to overcome the problems of Sith infighting and ensure that each successive master would be required to prove themselves stronger than the last. The problem with having many Sith was that they inevitably turned upon one another in their desire for power. Often a group of lesser Sith would unite to take down a powerful master only to turn upon one another once the Master (who could have prevented their infighting) was dead. Cunning and manipulation rather than strength or skill in using the force were the keys to success in the pre-Rule of Two Sith order. Many Sith inevitably led to a power struggle which left the Sith order badly weakened by the loss of many of its most capable members. |
Wraith Five chapter 1 . 1/16/2023 Okay, that's really good! I like this interpretation. |
deadal chapter 1 . 8/8/2021 It is now canon, in my mind! |
cglasgow chapter 1 . 3/22/2020 This Darth Bane, and this one alone, is truly worthy to be the Sith'ari. *g* |
Black' Victor Cachat chapter 1 . 7/3/2019 Raise some good points here I admit. The canon idea for it though was that the reason the Sith Empire collapsed was that the greed and in-fighting between rival Dark Lords is what lead to their collapse; they sucked at teamwork. Darth Bane, the last surviving Sith Lord after said collapse, was the one to begin this. Another way to look at it though would be that there is one single Sith in charge of whatever they create at a time, while gradually training up their successor. That said, yeah, highly inefficient, and at risk of total failure if discovered, and it really did take centuries and centuries to maneuver their cult into a position to make their revenge. The Jedi would have been hyper-vigilant though in hunting down any remains of the Sith, with lots of war veterans cheerfully involved, and probably passing it onto their own students for generations. Obviously not as successful as they hoped, not only in that the Sith survived, but that so many of their teachings and artifacts did as well. |
ImaginativeFury chapter 1 . 6/30/2019 Up until now I never thought much about it other than its a crap rule and completely ridiculous. This makes more sense and works as a smokescreen because as far as the Jedi will know, there are only two Sith, a Master and an apprentice. Kill them and all the other Master/Apprentice can keep on working while the Jedi think they got them all. You could work out an entire story about this with multiple Sith Lords working on different parts of the galaxy to fuck with the Jedi. |
Slytherin66 chapter 1 . 6/26/2019 This was very good and a valid point the Sith are not fans of rules and the rule of two would doom the sith if a master died in an accident or was killed before the apprentice was ready to take over. Well said about the Jedi being in once place. |
Team Wingless chapter 1 . 6/25/2019 This was a really good one shot I'm surprised I like it as much as I did, really hope you write more though. |
marsolino chapter 1 . 6/25/2019 Mouth feelers... it's that vampiric species right? Good one-shot anyway, your view of the Rule is actually plausible and could explain where Snoke comes from in the new trilogy |
