That's an awesome way to end a chapter, as long as the next follows not too long after. I guess the culprit is probably Ryoga ... assuming it's not Akane.

One thing bewildered me: "a hug that was far from overexaggurated, overemotional embraces, the onw happened to be perfect in expressing his sentiments". Possibly you meant "that now" in place of "the onw", otherwise I'm clueless. If that's right, maybe "far from his usual overexaggerated ..." would have been advisable.

On a separate note, I guess you don't have to be as emotionally unstable as Soun to cave in to Akane's anger like drywall before a battering ram.

Nice chapter. One of the things I like about this story is how much characterization there is. We really get a feel for the characters, and characters they are.

Looks like the next chapter will have a little more action. That's another positive for this story. It has a good mix of action vs. characterization. Too many stories are nothing but action.

AH I NEED TO READ THE NEXT CHAPTER! YOU MUST HURRY, I WILL DIE WITHOUT FANFICTIONAL CONTENTMENT! Oh yeah, and of course, yet another great chapter ). AH!

Very well done. By the way the pacing is set, I'd say that the length of this story would be novel-size before it ends. Of course, everyone wonders who the presently unidentified assailant is. Someone mentioned that there was a good possibility that it could be Tarou, which is a valid guess, but then agian it could as easily be Ryoga since the Lost Boy has yet to make an appearance. Heck, it could just as well be Akane's husband since there's not much info on him at the moment. And Akane and Kasumi are portrayed as somewhat manipulative seeing as how they attempted to turn their father against Ranma and Nabiki's relationship...

Sweet. Excellent work as always. Of course, in the end you make us think it's Akane at the door, but somehow I think you have something more devious planned. Guess we'll just have to wait and see. :-)

I hate cliffhangers but great chapter I hope you UPDATE it soon.

In regard to Akane vs Ranma in actual battle. Ranma DID beat Akane when she had battle dougi - and it supposedly make wearer as powerfull and he'she can get. He ONLY had trouble when he tried to avoit hurting her. And here he does not have this problem.
On other hand you can add some training of Akane from Happosai and easily make her more powerfull then Ranma. So any way will be acceptable but if you really want for Akane to be more powerfull then Ranma... recall Herb. He was MUCH more powerfull and had A LOT OF tricks - and still Ranma beat him. Only Happosai and Cologne can claim they can actually beat Ranma - and Akane can not be up to this level. Not while having artistic career.
Of course Akane is still unknown and Ranma is overconfident so first time can go other way but if you are talking about Akane vs Ranma bouts then Ranma will kick Akane's ass despite age difference.
