It's not really an answer to your challenge, but I've written a few attempts at a story where things went a little differently, and the Acromantula grabbed Harry or Cedric, or both, as they took the cup. On the alert, they run and hide as soon as they arrive in the graveyard, and Pettigrew is forced to fight and kill the spider. This causes enough chaos that Harry and Cedric manage to capture both Pettigrew and Voldemort's homunculus. |

This was a very funny way to resolve all of the moving parts of the plot, although I wonder about the other horcruxes. It was implied that the Unspeakables got the information about them from Tom, but implications ain't facts until the shouting is all over. See why I don't write? Thank you for a good laugh. I am glad that Fantastic Beasts give us a good visual of erumpents. |
