That wasn't justice. Eradicating all the Lannister line of Lannisport and Casterly Rock with forcing the women to become Septas and giving the males the choice between getting killed or the Wall. They all sworn loyalty to their Lord Paramount and naturally they followed Tywin's orders. But that doesn't make them all monsters who deserved such harsh punishment and for the thousands of years old family lines to die out. The normal way would be to beat them, punish the Lord Paramount and everyone else who has really done something wrong personally, and give everyone else who surrender the option to bend their knees.

Robert in canon didn't take revenge at his former enemies after Robert's Rebellion. Mace Tyrell even nearly starved his two brothers to death and he got not punished at all. And then there was the Greyjoy rebellion a few years later. Balon got to live and remained a Lord Paramount and the Iron Islanders are notorious pirates! The only punishment was Theon becoming a hostage. Even Daenerys, who was on her way to becoming a murderous tyrant at that time, gave Randylll and Dickon Tarly the choice to bend their knees.

Tyrion is really an ass. He can't have a problem with ALL other Lannisters outside Jaime. There are so many of them. Not to mention there are tons of non Lannisters in Casterly Rock, too, which will die. And he betrays them all.
