![]() ![]() The ending does bring up the 'unspoken question' on whether other crossover-universes from "Universal DOOM" might warrant their own chapter-stories like this one… and so far, it appears that the "Halo" franchise has been the only one with the extensive lore and plot to justify it. "...may the blood of your sword never dry, and may we never need you again." |
![]() ![]() ![]() Definitely a bittersweet ending. People think the Master Chief and Doom Slayer are dead and they lost countless lives but there’s at least some growing respect between humans and Covenant. But of course the Chief and Slayer would survive a Halo detonation. I’m wondering if the former’s luck rubbed off on the latter? While I appreciated the team up between both super soldiers, it would probably be better that Master Chief sticks to his universe rather than go dimension hopping. Tough as he is, I have doubts he could keep up with the Doom Slayer. The Slayer is all but a force of nature, possessing far more experience than the Chief. But I will miss the interactions between Cortana and VEGA. It seems that Cortana proved to be a positive influence to her new friend. And I can see why Cortana refuses VEGA’s offer. Even though she had plenty of reasons to accept, her choice was understandable. Congratulations on finishing this story. Maybe it was a small part of something much greater but you still finished this part of the Slayer’s quest. Great work. -BrightNova169 |
![]() ![]() ![]() As always, the Master Chief and the Doom Slayer know how to make an over-the-top exit. Bonus points to the Slayer for saving Dubbo. But to his credit, Dubbo had guts sticking his neck out when Halo was about to blow. That moment of camaraderie at the end was a great way to show how much the super soldiers and A.I. came to respect each other. For someone like VEGA, that’s a declaration of friendship. Nice job adding that. -BrightNova169 |
![]() ![]() ![]() Leave it to Guilty Spark to screw everyone over. Too bad he wasn’t killed before Johnson got killed. Lost a good man that chapter. This is just my opinion but I think you do a great job balancing Cortana’s sense of humor with her seriousness. That’s a detail I think some writers can’t manage. -BrightNova169 |
![]() ![]() ![]() Leave it to the Doom Slayer to terrify some hive mind abomination with unrelenting brutality. Too bad he just gave more food for the Flood. Cortana took being second best to VEGA fairly well all things considered. Can’t be easy knowing there’s someone who can easily outperform you. Though pulling a fast one on ONI probably made the news easier to stomach. Like any good crossover, I found the interactions between the Halo characters and Doom protagonists to be the best part. Thank you. -BrightNova169 |
![]() ![]() ![]() I found that glimpse into the Master Chief’s backstory to be a great touch for humanizing him. For all his stoicism, he cares about his allies and wants to keep them alive. Not that the Slayer needed much help. The Gravemind on the other hand... VEGA also mentioned how the Doom Slayer’s suit temperature got to a point where it could start melting metals. I’d love to see that happen. And maybe have the Slayer jam some enemies into the molten mess for good measure. -BrightNova169 |
![]() ![]() ![]() It’s strange that the Doom Slayer’s universe has a weaker military despite possessing superior A.I.s. I suppose their soldiers couldn’t adapt quickly enough against the legions of Hell. The moment where the Slayer spared the Prophet for the Arbiter’s honor was touching in a gory way. It’s not every day Doom’s protagonist will spare an enemy. Plus, it was great to see VEGA become more understanding of human culture. Too bad Keyes wasn’t able to celebrate that... You made both Doom characters so well rounded in this chapter and really drove home how deadly effective they are. You know someone is badass if they can terrify a cosmic horror without being in the same dimension as them. But the human aspects of Slayer and VEGA were just as important and I feel like you nailed them. Nice work. -BrightNova169 |
![]() ![]() ![]() The intro reminded me how easily VEGA could start a war. His ability to hack databases with such ease means no digital content is safe from him. Even a fraction of the UNSC’s secrets would cause an uproar among the public. I can only imagine the chaos that would result from all of the secrets from ONI and the UNSC being released. The simultaneous Hunter kills were a work of art. Just seeing the Chief and Slayer rush at them with no fear was perfectly in character for them. Even if my fighting skills were up to snuff, I’d probably falter. Facing something made out of bugs creeps me out. Even though this adventure will take multiple chapters, I think it makes for good pacing. Plus, I feel like it will help build up the threatening atmosphere of each unique Halo enemy. Well, threatening to anyone who isn’t the Doom Slayer. -BrightNova169 |
![]() ![]() ![]() Glad to see Dubbo come around on the crossover team up. Double the super soldiers, double the carnage. Especially when Doom Slayer showed off his soccer skills. And props to the BFG imploding that Scarab. Hopefully, Doom Slayer can find some Night Sentinels to help him in his crusade. He’d probably appreciate the help. -BrightNova169 |
![]() ![]() ![]() I found Universal Doom a while back and I loved the concept you made. This might be just the first chapter of another adventure but it was nothing short of excellent. VEGA and Doom Slayer are like Cortana and Master Chief, just amped up to indomitable levels. But seeing both duos work together would be a dream come true. If only Cortana were here... I also found VEGA outsmarting Parangosky to be extremely cathartic. I feel little for ONI beyond contempt due to everything they’ve done and her attempt to make the Doom Slayer her personal attack dog was low even for her. I only wish the Slayer had at least backhanded her or crushed BB’s prison. Still, it seems like everyone was in character. Nice work. -BrightNova169 |
![]() ![]() This doesn’t seem to have enough attention to it, given by the readers. That being said, I’m rather curious about how the Doom Slayer (and VEGA) would have changed things, had they appeared in either Halo 3: ODST, Halo Wars, Halo Wars 2, Halo: Spartan Assault or Halo: Spartan Strike. |
![]() ![]() I really like your take on the doomslayer; others ive read had something i disliked about him or something that didn't fit the image but this is what i think when i think of the doomslayer. |

![]() ![]() To 'thaboisontheinternet' (Jun 13, 2021): We should wait and see how "Halo Infinite" will play out first, before any of us attempt to tell the crossover-story from that particular point in time. Otherwise, "Halo 4" and "Halo 5: Guardians" are pretty much 'viable' candidates to write a sequel for this… with the Doom Slayer 'hopefully' changing the outcome to be more 'favourable'… (Assuming he doesn’t go apeshit on the Office of Naval Intelligence afterwards!) |
![]() ![]() ![]() Great story. Maybe a sequel to 4,5 even 6? I mean infinite but it’s your choice\_(ツ)_/. |
