In a land where the servants are routinely raped as they don’t have the power to say no the treatment of Brandon seems overkill. I am not trying to condone Brandon’s actions as they very easily could have led to war but the extremely progressive approach by Rickard Stark of basically humiliating him left right and center doesn’t seem like it fits in the Westeros world. Seems like the Daynes would have demanded significant compensation for this type of behavior if he deflowered their daughter or besmirched her good name. Ashara was coming from life in Dorne and in the capital where she would have been surrounded by a bunch of oversexed nobles who took whatever they wanted as well as a king who routinely burned victims alive, seems like violence wouldn’t be a stranger

As someone who doesn’t like Robert, Ned going on and on about what a great man he is comes off as annoying

This chapter was brutal. I actually feel bad for Caitlyn and she is one of my least favorite characters is ASOIAF
