![]() ![]() ![]() Damn, all I can say is damn. This is just getting more and more thrilling. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I absolutely love this story. It's so well written, the plot is coming together nicely, and there are definitely a few things I have already figured out, but also some that I still have no real clue about. Pretty much the perfect balance I would say. Also, I think your character writing is really great. Everyone feels consistent both with their canon counterparts, and with their developements over time, and all the OCs also have a distinct personality. Since you said on your profile that you are open to criticism, there is one small thing I would like to point out. It's impossible for Draco to have paid with the Euro both in Germany and in Switzerland. In Germany (and the rest of the countries that introduced the Euro) cash was only given out starting in January 2002. And Switzerland doesn't have the Euro even today, they're not even part of the EU at all. So in Germany, Draco should still have paid with Deutsche Mark (or D-Mark for short), and in Switzerland, he should have paid with Schweizer Franken. Now, I have theories I want to share. First, obviously Winthrop is the 'big bad' here. I was already suspicious of him pretty much from the first time he was introduced. He's the DADA professor, which is never a good sign, and he was way too interested in Bella/Julia. But what really made me sure was him showing up twice on the Map, which means he has a time turner. Yes, the Map was not working properly, but I do think it showed the truth there. And after seeing Andromeda's memory it's clear it was Winthrop who impersonated Avery to get Mastery of the Elder Wand. Also, Winthrop has the resurrection stone. He knew Bella had it after catching her talking to Voldemort, and he was Head of Gryffindor, so he had the opportunity to take it when Bella and Hermione fell asleep in the common room, and I think he did. Especially after the Hotel, where he was talking to someone in his room, and was extremely evasive, didn't want to invite Hermione in, and then used the same excuse Bella did, about geniuses talking to themselves. So I think, he is on a mission to get the Cloak too, and he might even know Harry has it. He also might be involved in the Sevens in an attempt to somehow get the Cloak, but how that would work, or if it's even likely, I'm not so sure about. Then, I'm pretty sure he's a vampire, or maybe half a vampire, if that's a thing someone can be. He's way too persuasive, and we know vampires can compel people. Nobody ever really seriously questions anything he does, everyone always comes to the same conclusion that he's right and justified in what he's doing. Also, Hermione trusted him for all of her last year at Hogwarts, then didn't see him for a longer time and grew suspicious of him, and then after just one meeting or so, completely trusted him again. And Bella also seems to swing between not trusting and then trusting him again. And Mrs Schultz said they met a long time ago, and she said it in a way that makes me think it's been longer than a 'regular' long time ago. Which also makes me suspect that one of the reasons Winthrop suggested her as Hermione's Mind Healer was to get access to her memories of the war, and therefore to track the Hallows. Though I'm not sure if Mrs Schultz would actually break her vows. But maybe she would be coerced and/or not remember afterwards. Winthrop probably did something similar to Miss Collins (was that her name? The transfiguration professor), so it's not out of the question. Also, I think the person Winthrop is talking to with the stone might be Grindelwald. I don't think his death was ever confirmed in canon, and he was not killed by Dumbledore, but he was the same age, so he might have just died of natural causes in Nurmengrad. But there is definitely some overlap between Winthrop's and Grindelwald's policies. He hasn't come out and said the words directly, but what everything Winthrop does boils down to is "for the greater good". It's always along the lines of the ends justify the means, and isn't this sacrifice worth it to get that result? And he wants to abolish the Statute, which is also something Grindelwald wanted, as far as I can remember. I'm not really clear on what Winthrop's end goal is (except maybe the ruling over everyone, but I'm not sold on that), but he's definitely up to no good. I am also very sure that he killed his own father to get the Werewolf legislation to pass quicker, also probably a sacrifice well worth it in his eyes. Also, after this chapter, I am very sure that he is involved with the Death Eaters as well. They're obviously growing the filament for the obliviation potion, and as seen with Bella, it might be possible to get other people's memories too, so this might be a plan to get Harry's memories of both the Cloak and also the location of the Elder Wand. Why he would want/need to work with the Death Eaters for that seems still unclear, though. In any case, I am very much looking forward to how the rest of this story will unfold, |
![]() ![]() ![]() I'm now preparing to defend Harry and Ginny in the next chapter! Gahhhhhh. It's so real and tragic but the truth hits home so much. I have a very complicated relationship reading these last few chapters by golly! Thanks for the update, Good luck with the writing. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Loss off words honestly. Mary is dead and I honestly dont know what yo say. But i am expecting the bosy count to pick up. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Oh my god. These two last updates have left me feeling so empty. I'm still crying. I really need there to be a time turner |
![]() ![]() ![]() Bruh did you put trigger warnings at the end of the triggers? That's actually funny. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Very interesting. Harry narrowing in on the issue at hand..I feel like several explosive concluding chapters are coming soon! Cheers, I'm excited! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Young Bella has hit her stride here and she is absolutely glorious to behold! I did wonder about the rest of her memories. I also hope that this won't work, hahah. I'm glad Hermione communicated, and I'm glad Bella isn't pushing... |
![]() ![]() ![]() Hmm I hope Draco finds it in himself to turn them all in. Seems like to me it all rests on him. Happy about the reunion between Andy and Cissy. Teddy is very cute. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I confess that I feel relieved! Hermione needs to tune in a bit, although I suppose it's understandable that she feels like she can't really be emotionally available. Of course Bella thinks that Hermione doesn't want her anymore, and of course Hermione wouldnt get even close to the thought enough to wonder it. At least Bella has Occlumency, haha. :( :( Dawlish leaving is a blow, but I understand why. Winthrop remains a mystery. I hope he's actually Not A Death Eater, but really... Idk... Rookwood still seems likely to me. |
