Never read a story like this before, this is great man

Holy shit this chapter...it's so good. Really, really good. I love how there was no dramatic battle between the two...just Naruto's incredibly good luck coming into play and a similar Mizuki scene played out completely uniquely.

At first I was completely skeptical about Japanese culture in a Western but you've done an amazing job amalgamating the two in a sense that they're immersive and enjoyable.

Also I love the subtle, oh so subtle hint that Kurama is still helping Naruto out without ANY indication. It's also the first time the viewership in the original manga/anime experience the kyuubi to beat up Mizuki. Is this kind of a subtle nod to that? Inari, the god of good fortune and foxes, also is portrayed to have nine tails. Maybe Naruto has Inari's favor?

Beautiful intro, starting off with those two characters. Sasuke's finally here, the smooth angel-eyes motherfucker.

I like the thought of 'Judge Danzo'! Interesting that he shares a familiarity with Naruto, sounds like it could mean a lot of things.

Lovely reference to 'Hashirama's Hawthorne'.

The Mizuki setup was beautiful, really good tension build and release in that final scene.

What I really love about this story is the little things, the small details you slip in, like the foliage, places around Hawthorne, it feels like you know, yknow? Mark of a seasoned writer.

Good chapter. Lots of character development, Naruto in particular we're getting a much better glimpse of. Sasuke's about as much as we'd expect. Hopefully Naruto surviving due to luck won't happen too often, but it's an interesting way to show his first dangerous situation. A little less Clint Eastwood, and a little more PTSD war vet. I'll be interested to see where you take the story.

I love that you're taking time to delve into the town and the setting. Really sets this apart.

Aaaaah my man, I am ADORING Sakura in this story. I have no idea why. Every character, really. You have the mark of a seasoned writer. Jiraiya, Tsunade, Kakashi, Hiruzen! All characterised beautifully.

I'm starting to sniff a direction here. Not gonna lie, this might end up being in my top freaking ten stories I've read. Love it.
