Reviews for The Propriety Failure

Just read this the whole way through. Couldn’t sleep for finishing it. Perfection!
Guest chapter 20 . 2/11/2020
Great story my only dislike is the way you describe their jokes. I understand what you’re going for and that life was dull in their time period so a semi intelligent remark might be funny to these characters. The exaggerated humor or hilarity for very mildly clever remarks is a bit much. The hurst conversation is the perfect example. To most people this exchange would be mildly amusing and you describe them as laughing as though it’s the funniest exchange. The dialogue and description don’t warrant this kind of response...if the reader isn’t laughing out loud the characters shouldn’t be acting like everyone is a comedian or so damn clever...just have the dialogue match the responses!

Thank you to you and your wife for sharing this delightful book. I’m loving it, though I must say I’m not a fan of the modern phrases in this chapter, likepoor baby”, “good boy” and I think “I’m going to kill myself” is also in this chapter? It ruined the feel of this book.

I am on the edge of my seat.

I love this story. Just re read it for the third time. You have such a gift and I love your strong female characters.
1ori ann chapter 17 . 1/14/2020
So, you included Willoughby. Interesting. I now wonder on any changes to Kitty and Lydia with the revelations within this chapter.

Great story.
d'elfe chapter 32 . 1/13/2020
Once more you have woven quite a plot there. I can see the PTSD Elizabeth is going throuth, and she finishing as a nurse is more than logical.

I enjoyed the whole story, plot twists and nice moments between Darcy and Elizabeth. You always have a way of introducing a little element that rewrites the book. I like it. And it is so detailed, like you are embroidering on the main plot.

My only regret, you tend to rush the conclusions. I would have loved more time with Darcy and Elizabeth in the end. On both stories I reviewed, you have them marry at once. It is romantic and fun, but I would greatly enjoy reading the same amount of details at the end than during the story.
Cheers

Excellent work! Well written and unique, unexpected plot twists. Deftly handled in all aspects. Caroline Bingley is so much better than canon, a character who learns from her mistakes and challenges. Thanks for sharing your talents. Best regards — Linda

Another fabulous book. I thoroughly enjoy all your work. You are certainly one of my favourite authors. Your stories are always so creative and different. I enjoyed a nicer Caroline and was very glad you took care of Wickham in the first chapter. Looking forward to your next novel.

And as always I love it, even though Lizzy got up to some pretty scandalous stuff. :'D And I knew the moment Colonel Fitzwilliam was back in England that him and Lina would be it. I just had a feeling. Okay. Off to the next book. 5th I think of your writings.

OMG! ARTHUR WELLESLEY/WELLINGTON! AAAGH! I am just reading a book of the French Revolution where you see through Napoleon's and Arthur Wellington's eyes. It's a series - four books of how they became who they became.
purplediane chapter 32 . 12/31/2019
Very nice story! I love your dialogue; truly, you have a gift for it. The story was very moving and also very funny in places. I liked the character development, notably Miss Bingley, but also I liked the way Mr. Bingley told off Darcy at the Assembly and how it triggered Darcy's growing awareness of his faults.
purplediane chapter 11 . 12/31/2019
I am enjoying this story VERY much! However, I must point out that England does not have skunks. Although not nearly as smelly, perhaps a dead badger would do...
Austen fan chapter 32 . 12/29/2019
This was a great read. I love Austen and I enjoy how you use both her characters and settings in a new and twisty way. The story kept me hooked, made me laugh and cry - a thoroughly enjoyable story, as usual!
mangosmum chapter 32 . 12/25/2019
This is quite possibly one of the best stories ever adapted from PridePrejudice. It brought up so many memories and had so much emotional impact, for characters and the readers.
