The constant straw-man'n of Hashirama turns this fic from a 10 down to an 8 overall, but my god this absolute character assassination of a chapter (literally!) tanks it even more.

(The actual source material clearly shows Hashirama as the more deep of the 2 characters, but lets ignore that for cringe, low skill bashing shall we?)

Not that I mind, but damn, Hashirama is a fucking *idiot* in this AU. I don't want to call it OOC because all we've seen of him in the political arena was capturing the remaining eight bijuu after stealing the Kyuubi from Madara, and selling all eight of them to other villages bc he assumed that the power balance would help maintain peace.

He was wrong, obviously, since the First Shinobi World War broke out some time near his death. Whether he's an incompetent buffoon or merely a naive idealist, I guess we'll never know. The way you wrote him is interesting, though

the last time i read this, it wasn't finished yet. it hasnt failed to deliver everything i could have hiped for and more. including a poly relationship with suce finesse and tack and coupling that with impeccable world building. This story shook me to my core. thank you endlessly for this amazing series.

This series of yours is beautiful, inspiring, educational, and fantastically written. The only part that pulled me out was the bit about reading naruto beforehand, but thats to be expected, given the way this story started, so is mostly on me and my preferences. other than that one gripe, this series is a master work, and if it hadnt relied on the naruto world backstory so much to weave the tale, it could be an amazing story on its own. i feel you gave more thought and effort to the backstory and world than the original writer/artist, and it cant be stated passionately enough, that this story is a masterwork of woven silk and utter beauty.

Thank you for this tale, it has helped ground me multiple times in the past few years, and helped me through trying times. This is a story that has become part of my soul, and very few stories in the last ten years can hold a flame to its influence on me and my perspectives.
