I. Love. This. So. Much. Honestly I think I just found my new favourite fic I really hope you update soon since this is hilarious, sad in some parts and utterly amazing without at any point being OOC. Also normally I hate an fic with non cannon characters as more than small background S but for this I WILL fight you if you dare insult Yun or Xia-Su. Plus they are both such a mood. I love this please keep going!

I do like in many fics I’ve read where Iroh and Zuko are separated after the Agni Kai that Iroh tries to reach out to Azula, recognizing he had failed her too and allowed her father to warp her into a mirror of himself.

The bit between Iroh and Ozai where Iroh wonders at what point his brother became a monster struck a chord with me. It’s easy to just go, “Well, Ozai’s the villain, you don’t need to dig any deeper than that.” but I am curious what he started out as.

Leave it to a rich person (in this case, the seamstress) to remark on a poor person’s malnutrition like it’s a personal failing. Sadly realistic.

I find it interesting in fics how the fandom has latched onto the idea that Zuko was tutored in the palace while Azula was allowed to go to school. It would explain why Zuko didn’t seem to have any friends, and makes his childhood seem even more isolated and miserable. No wonder he was so attached to his mother, Iroh, and Lu Ten.

It also makes sense that he’s accepted Ozai’s banishment as final here since he doesn’t have even the slim hope of finding the Avatar to justify any belief that his father wants him back. Not to mention being forced to survive in enemy territory instead of a fully staffed naval vessel.

Also, to the surprise of no one, Zuko and Toph’s relationship is really cute.

Sorry Toph but Zuko grew up with Azula. You’re gonna have to try a lot harder to get the drop on him.

I like how you portray Toph’s parents. Extremely privileged and prone to ignore things they don’t want to see or think about (like Toph being far more than a helpless little blind girl) but still having some basic compassion and empathy. Not great, but not monsters either.

Toph’s already enjoying this so much that it’s infectious. Can’t wait to see what Zuko’s got himself into.

When are you going to update this, because I love it, and I love the found-sibling relationship between Zuko and Toph.

Y'know author, just because you say they won't dosnt mean we believe that they won't. They've got great on screen chemistry. Really though, their friendship is quite precious. Dosn't require an evolution beyond that.

It'd just be quite adorable if it did.

If I had one comment, I'd like it if you described how people look more. The easy example is the Swordsman Han from Chapter 2, whom Zuko fights as a test. I have ZERO god damn idea what he looks like besides the fact that he's a dude in the earth kingdom. I'd encourage you to try to describe the people you write about. It doesn't have to be a lot of information, but enough to get the imagination going.

Pretty good stopping point here.

Been a while since I read this story probably should do another reread some time. But I do remember this being a very good one. This update was great, really enjoyed the moments between Zuko and Toph here. This update was long awaited, but it was definitely worth the wait. And I'm sure the next part, whenever you're able to bring it forth, will also be worth the wait.

This story is utterly brilliant, and you absolutely must update soon!

Gosh, it's been a while since I read ATLA fanfic. What with all the recent changes in my life, I barely read fanfic at all! That said, catching up on this fic was a true pleasure, and I really enjoyed it. The comment about her parents not liking a boy being in her room made me chuckle; will there be Zutoph in this story? XD whether there is or not, I'll read every update, whenever you have them to gift us. (I know from first-hand experience that it can be pretty tough to write consistently, so no shade.) Keep up the awesome work, and thanks for the update!

I'm so happy to finally see an update after over an year! I was so afraid this great story was abandoned! But it isn't, and I'm celebrating so much! This was another amazing chapter! Funny and heartwarming! Toph and Zuko are so adorable, and their relationship is so well fleshed out! Gotta love Yun and Xin-Su too! Also glad to see Toph's first experience with sandbending!
