Didn't go into much detail earlier(was on my phone) and am kinda tired now, but want to add I'm hoping there will be a moment at some point in this arc or the next where we get to actually see Zuko do some bodyguard stunt.

Not because Toph needs it, because obviously she doesn't, but because in all honesty your tidbits written in Lao's perspective make me want to see the aftermath of such an event through his eyes. :)

Well, this is officially amazing! Will it be continued? It has been quite a while since the last update...

The bond between these two is great, something I wish we had seen more of in the show and comics. We don't see a lot of interaction between them and if we did, this is what I imagine it would be like. Can't wait to read more of these siblings

This story is AMAZING! I can just imagine Zuko and Toph hitting it off like this, from a very different starting scenario. They really are quite a bit alike - both neglected (Toph because she cannot be who she really IS around her parents and therefore they can't give her the support she needs; Zuko because Ozai), both independent, and both terribly, terribly unskilled at anything to do with other children (Toph because sheltered, Zuko because Azula and Ozai and oh my word that kid has a terrible family).

Their friendship is GREAT.

I'm really looking forward to seeing where you take this tale. You've said it follows canon (to an extent), but without Zuko chasing the Avatar down, that probably leaves Zhao as the main antagonist of S1 (I'm guessing) because frankly if it was Azula, Aang would be TOAST.

Anyway. Love it, favorited it, followed it, and hoping it isn't abandoned!

this is my favorite fanfic of zuko and toph being siblings and adopting each other they're so in character and their bond is just way too cute

Zuko is written so well in this story it almost feels like I'm watching an alternate season of ATLA. I look forward to the continuation of the series in Ba Sing Se!

Absolutely loved the story so far, especially how well written Zuko and Toph are here, no matter it's an AU they are really in-character with their canon counterpart with just a bit of personal touch which made them lovely. I always wanted to see more interaction between them in the show, shame they didn't even get a field trip. Do continue the good work, can't wait until the next chapter.
