Seeing some of the reviews made me think about some things and thus im going to write a new review that it doesnt just involve griping about the fanon and such.

To begin with i will talk why i do not like the fact Shirou is basically getting 'Tracing' and posibly UBW handed down to him in silver plate without any effort from him or whatsoever.

The reason for that is simple, because Shirou was never someone that was given anything nor he was any kind of genious like Rin that would take anything like a fish in the water. Everything he archived, he archive it via hard work and the things that looks like were given to him was less of anything handed down to him and more of the Universe having pity of him and throwing him a bone so he had a chance of surviving in the meat grinder know as the HGW.

Something people seems to forget, that the chances for someone like Shirou to survive that mess were very low and the fact he reached 'the end' in any route is more a statistical probability in the Kaleidoscope than a show of skill considering how many times Bad Ends the visual novel have.

He leeched experience points from EMIYA? Well, if he didnt he would have died either against EMIYA or against Gilgamesh later on and the whole thing was more a clash of ideologies than a clash of skill considering EMIYA could have killed him in any moment by using all the weapons inside UBW against him.

He was given EMIYA's Arm? Well, if it wasnt i would have wished him very good luck trying to come out alive from the clusterfuck that HF route was and the thing, for all intents and propuses, ended up killing him as it would damage him every time he will use it.

EMIYA during his life didnt have anything of that, everything he archived, all his skill with swords, his bow, his magic was result of working hard to reach his goal, not anything that was handed down to him. Hell, look UBW, it took him 20 years of effort to be able of actually use it.

The only thing you could say Shirou was gifted since the beginning, more or less, was that he was good with the bow to the point never have failed to hit a fixed target but outside that? Nothing. And being able of never fail to hit that isnt any indication he will hit anything that moves, specially if said thing moves pretty fast.

Thats the reason because Shirou getting things handed down in a silver plate rubbed me the wrong way.

Then there is the fact you could set things for Shirou by using elements from the very world he is instead of bullshiting your way for it and pissing off half of your readers due it. Like for example, during the class up ceremony after the mess with the Church of the Three Heroes.

I read the LN version of Rising of the Shield Hero, i dont know a thing about the manga, anime or the WN and i think that its a good place to begin as the power up Fitoria gave Filo auto-selected things for both Filo and Raphtalia beside giving them a juicy power up. You could use that part to open Shirou's Magic Circuits to begin(those makeshift circuits of his arent suitable to use magic and they are the reason he sucks with reinforcement) and then slowly make him to develop his canon skill set or simply foregone that and make him learn whatever call his attention in this world or a bit of the two. RotSH is a long story with plenty of time to develop things instead of bullshiting your way and by the time Shirou gets to the end of said story he will be strong enough to kick Servant asses left and right.

To the other readers, i would like to reming you all, that here Shirou is only what, like 12 years old? That he isnt a natural born killer and that killing who he doesnt like ISNT his go to way of deal with said someone even for his canon self pre-war. That Shirou is an ignorant, naive idiot that doesnt have a bit of an idea of how become a 'Hero of Justice' and his concept of 'saving' is flawed and that being called on the fact that just release the slaves and pretend he will just be okay hencefort is naive and iresposable in a way WILL shut him off even if what Naofumi is saying isnt entirely right. I do not exactly know what you all want for him given his situation as slave, there is little that he can do AND remember he is still a damn child in this story.

Avalon DOESNT heal anything without Artoria nearby, that was said by Nasu itself and you can find that in the extra materials. The thing will not do a thing in this world unless the author decides to throw more fanon here.

Does Shiro still have the sheath inside of him?

Why is Shirou actually becoming loyal to Naofumi, stopping hating him I would expect, but Shirou already set his goal in this world, he swore that he would dismantle the slave trade, and he's one hell of a stubborn guy, so I wouldn't expect him to plan to stay with Naofumi long term, the change would just be that now he don't want to kill Naofumi, when he manage to get rid of the slave crest, and leave to wage a war against slavery.

I would expect Shirou to change priorities once he see a Wave, as he would recognize that stopping the destruction of the world, should be done before waging his war on slavery, but until then, I would think he would resist becoming loyal to Naofumi, because his ideals as a hero of justice, conflict with being Naofumi's sword, as a hero of justice help everyone, so focusing on helping just Raphtalia and Naofumi go against his ideals, and Shirou is obsessed to an extreme degree with those ideals.

How long until shirou uses a bow? Remember, he is ridiculously efficient with that.
I guess until after Raphtalia conquers her fear of the same monster species that killed her parents. That way, Shirou could trust her to being able to handle the front lines while he could do range support.

Ok first off you are really downplaying who shirou is. You are writing shirou as if he thinks like a normal person which he doesn't, shirou as repeatedly stated in the ubw route is distorted he lives entirely for one purpose to follow his ideals, he has no self preservation instincts if it means he can save people. He is suicidally determined to save people, he wouldn't give up after one warning that disobeying would lead to pain

Anyways I agree with the Guest Reviewer 'Ant'. Shirou will never reach his full potential in this story.

Is Shirou really going to accept being a slave just like that? Like the flip of a light switch?

Shirou came from a modern society where Slavery was abolished...if I had been in his position, I would never accept the fact that I'm a slave because I was born and raised in an era where everyone was equal.

This "yes, Master" business is getting really hard to believe.
