I quite enjoyed the hag creation myth. Creation myths tend to be fiction, of course, but they can say something about the culture. And who knows, perhaps in this world of magic, there could even be an element of truth.

In just one scene you take a canonically 2D caricature and give him depth, humanity and history, all while keeping the squib grumpiness and metal chains. Then you do the same to his job, while taking McGonagall down a couple of pegs. Just one scene!?

I love this story so much. Hopefully, this encounter with what I think is essentially the sum of dead druids, at least the ones buried here, will allow her to learn some more. Flitwick seems to be becoming an ally, and I hope to see him be let more in the loop and become more so in the future.

Dumbledore is scary. The best we can really hope for is that he'll be perplexed but supoortive, but given his handling of Snape in general, I don't see that happening. In particular, his reaction to finding out she hasn't been with the Dursleys for a very long time is likely to be a problem, even if it's likely tp be entertaining in the short term. I hope to see it update soon!

i have a question. Is Hazel another species or is she just a witch using her magic in a different way. If that is so, then does that mean she was never a druid?

I am so very invested in this story! Usually I don't enjoy femHarry stories but you have breathed so much life into Hazel and her world. This is probably one of the most unique, fascinating and creative HP fics I've ever read, and I really hope you continue it one day! You're a very talented writer

Of course, it's interesting to read about how the heroine fixes glasses and cleans clothes (no), but will anything happen? So far, the heroine is engaged in some kind of bullshit. You complain that Rowling's magic is poorly disclosed, but you have not disclosed it at all, and what is there is unreadable nonsense. Has the government reacted in any way to the missing child? Did the cat lady notice the loss? The author also has problems with descriptions, there are none at all, am I invited to Google these attractions?

Yeah, your idea of Dumbledore in canon is reliant on the assumption that he knew everything about Voldemort, Harry, and the horocruxes from the very beginning and not that he was being extremely cautious, and trying to piece together the only bits of ACTUAL esoteric and one-off magic in the background throughout the series - which is what everything about Dumbledore actually points to.

The moon is actually only full for an instant, even though it appears full to us for several days. So, in that respect it makes total sense that the werewolf transformation is only for one night. The instant the moon is full, the transformation triggers, and then it eventually wears off on its own.

Alright. I'm long passed the stage of my life where character bashing is interesting and not just a reflection of the author's inability to create meaningful conflict with nuanced characters.

This isnt a harry potter story, this is just an oc running around doing random crap with the plot being barely even tangentially related to harry potter. its not badly written story , but its a fucking AWFUL harry potter fanfic.

so...when does actual plot happen? the story is already starting to meander aimlessly, theres no hook. her being a mind reader and teleporting and other powers ARE cool, but arnt a plot. being a homeless child is sad, but its not a plot. this story isnt going anywhere and its pretty much unreadable.

This such a wonderfully magical story! I loved reading about all the different kiinds of magic. Also the way you wrote about Hags was amazingly intriguing! And so funny how skape doesnt know a thing about their potions:)

Wicked cool take on the Magic here. It’s inspired by works of fiction, but she sort of happens on the way Harry Potter magic works intuitively to replicate the effects of fictional magic, if not the means.

Levitation? She creates a Charm Spell that is a ghost hand. Sort of fits with normal Harry Potter magic.

Jedi Mind Trick? A sort of Notice Me Not charm.

Instead of being based on traditional wand casting, she is using intent/will/visualization to trigger a sort of controlled Accidental magic. It’s all very neat and doesnt feel all that out of place for the Harry Potter.

The only thing that feels out of place is just how easy it is. She basically achieved more than Voldemort ever achieved as a child in the space of a week. Or at least matched his shown success. That said, she likely just got lucky in determining the true method that accidental magic works.

So she is a full on mind reader in this fic? Legilimency doesn’t do that in canon, so I am assuming that magic itself is a bit of an AU.

It’s an interesting take, at least. It should have fairly wide reaching consequences as well. In canon, Legilimency was a complex art that required extensive training or prodigal skill to utilize, and even then, it required a spell or eye contact.

The fact that a child can be born (assuming rarely) with the innate ability to full on read everyone’s thoughts and to dive deeply into their minds is gonna mean that the defensive mind arts are more well known.

Unless it is outrageously rare. As in, about as rare as someone being born with the magical potential of Voldemort/Dumbledore.
