Would absolutely love to see this on AO3, if for no other reason than dark mode is easier on my eyes. I've never been able to get it to work on FF. Plus it would give you a chance to fix the (admittedly remarkably few) typos as you transfer it over. It's so rough to read an in-progress work, especially when you catch up, but I am solidly enjoying this. Take my suffering and use it as sacrificial fuel for the next update!

I Just stumbeld over your Story and it is amazing.
I am know done reading chapter 24 and thought that i could be of help with the Translation of the male version from Hexe.
I'm from Germany and i Just wanted to say that the Male equivalent to Hexe (witch) would be Hexer.
Hexerin souds Like you took the Male version and addet the female Suffix -in. This ist normaly used with nouns that are generic masculine like Lehrer (teacher) to Lehrerin (a female teacher).
I Hope this was helpfull.
By the way in the German Translation they use Hexe as the Translation for witch and Vettel or Sabberhexe for the one thats eats Humans.

I Hope that my englisch is understandable and that i foud everytime my Auto correction made is to ist (the German Word for is)

Fourth reason why Hazel didn't go to the bank to inquire about her possible inheritance from her parents: That's not what banks do. Maybe Gringotts is the exception, because magic or because goblins or because whatever - although Gringotts is apparently doing nothing of that sort in canon. Sirius' will was handled "off-screen" and Dumbledore's will was explicitly handled by the Ministry. And that's how things work just about anywhere in the real world. Where on Earth is it a bank's job to determine who does and who doesn't inherit something?
So, even if Gringotts were an exception (which it canonically isn't), why would Hazel assume so?

I was hoping she would come to in some isolated alternate copy of that bog turned sanctuary for druids who survived and hid there from wizards, but that's probably wishful thinking.

On another note, she disrupted Snape's spell in previous chapter. Was it because her glow hand met with the spell jet or was it just them meeting at the notes? Like matter/antimatter meeting, only magical so it would not damage non magical things like notes...? But she could not disrupt anything before, so was it only because the spell had not landed yet? That would still not help if she was hit by another hex... but maybe she could cancel incomings... Yup, too many questions.

On another note still, now that I have caught up: I was wondering what the hags dumping the remaining ash from their lamps in the scoured clearing meant for the spirit there. Hazel could tell there was still some magic in it, so... I was just wondering if they were actually feeding the spirit in the clearing and that's why it grew stronger and stronger over time. I also had the idea that the ash was something like a drug for it, having a vengeful spirit on magical high... I should probably stop thinking.

A bit disappointed there is not a pack of Hellhounds in the Wistman's Wood.

Was it Hermione who got injured by the troll? I guess the event on their end are the same, so she was there because of Ron. I never liked her becoming friends with him just because he did one thing to help her when it was him who (unknowingly) put her in that very danger.
