I was hoping she would come to in some isolated alternate copy of that bog turned sanctuary for druids who survived and hid there from wizards, but that's probably wishful thinking.

On another note, she disrupted Snape's spell in previous chapter. Was it because her glow hand met with the spell jet or was it just them meeting at the notes? Like matter/antimatter meeting, only magical so it would not damage non magical things like notes...? But she could not disrupt anything before, so was it only because the spell had not landed yet? That would still not help if she was hit by another hex... but maybe she could cancel incomings... Yup, too many questions.

On another note still, now that I have caught up: I was wondering what the hags dumping the remaining ash from their lamps in the scoured clearing meant for the spirit there. Hazel could tell there was still some magic in it, so... I was just wondering if they were actually feeding the spirit in the clearing and that's why it grew stronger and stronger over time. I also had the idea that the ash was something like a drug for it, having a vengeful spirit on magical high... I should probably stop thinking.

A bit disappointed there is not a pack of Hellhounds in the Wistman's Wood.

Was it Hermione who got injured by the troll? I guess the event on their end are the same, so she was there because of Ron. I never liked her becoming friends with him just because he did one thing to help her when it was him who (unknowingly) put her in that very danger.

I am also wondering, Hazel so far didn't have any luck with Finite or whatever it's called. But she has had experience with sensing things and coming up with spells of her own. So I was thinking that she could try reaching out with her roots in meditation, to see if she could sense and disrupt the active spells on her - and possibly maybe make it somehow specific enough to target wand-waving spells. So she does not disrupt anything she doesn't want.

Or maybe finding some virtual tool that would slice through any wand-cast spells.

I have multiple chapters to read before I am caught up, so maybe this was already dealt with, I'll see :)

Awesome chapter. I admit, even with all the evidence that had slowly been revealed, up until a few chapters ago I still thought there was a chance she not entirely correct about the druids. This is very exciting.

Ffn's notifications have been very buggy and annoying. Mine didn't work for a year or so (I think I just missed a notification about that 3 month confirmation thing in the account page where you have to reauthorize getting emails delievered) then I managed to get them back on and they worked for about a week then stopped again for months. They're working again currently but I got probably 3 months worth a couple days ago and that's happened twice now so I don't have much hope it's actually fixed.
Going from Sprout thinking about Hazel not being a very good fit for Hufflepuff to Sidonia mentioning people not liking people who so openly doubt them has me thinking about how well Hazel would get along with Luna. I think she'd have a pretty different reaction to hearing about a friendly hellhound, spending time in the woods with a group of werewolves or making a trade for a fairy lens.

I'm looking forward to Dumbledore. On the one hand, it's perfectly reasonable for the headmaster to expect a student to attend classes and detentions. On the other, hazel is pretty obviously a disability exemption. Maybe a compromise where she's required to attend the non-wanded classes but skips the wanded ones?

On an unrelated note and regarding your initial thoughts: I've found to very much like ao3 thanks to the massively better comment section there. Also do like the general ui more than here, I have to admit. But that's not as much of an issue as the comments. The only thing I do prefer about ffnet is the ability to write someone directly in a pm.

It's nice to see that there are people actually THINKING THROUGH the reasons why Hazel would be so ostracized in the House of Friendship, even if it's a work in progress on Sprout's end. I wonder if Dumbledore's presence would actually benefit the situation, or at least, from whose perspective.
You'd think Hazel would learn better than to meddle in the affairs of spirits. Some things aren't meant to be revealed/found. At least she got another upgrade from it.

"Really f'ing weird with their alerts" is right. I went a while without anything, but now, all of a sudden, I'm getting spammed by it. The alert for this chapter only JUST showed up in my inbox, a WEEK after you posted it. And that doesn't even begin to touch on the whole "Every 90 days, we'll turn off your alerts without telling you. And even if everything's fine on your end, sometimes our program will simply refuse to send out the alert because it no longer recognizes Gmail for some unknown reason."
