Reviews for Homecoming
DrinkThemIn chapter 4 . 3/24
I always love coming here for those wonderful snippets of married Anne & Gil. As much as I adore their love story…it’s my favourite to see them very happily settled. I could read this all day long. Damn, Gil!

AnneNGil chapter 4 . 1/22/2021
Oh my goodness! This was awesome! Just thoroughly loved it! Anne and Gil are so sweet together. Loved the reminiscing. Loved the way they encouraged eachother. And, if course, so glad Anne decided she would indeed love the house. ;-)
AnneNGil chapter 3 . 1/22/2021
House warming, indeed!

Excellent chapter! Would definitely love to read more!
AnneNGil chapter 1 . 1/19/2021
Oh J, but what would Mrs Lynd say!?

Okay, just joking there.! This chapter was so lovely! I love the true emotional connection we see here with our favorite couple. I also really enjoyed the part with the kids and Susan "letting" Anne put the kids to bed. Lol! The characters are spot on. This was just really lovely. Of course I assume Anne and Gil have a really wonderful marriage, and it's so fun to read about it. Everything seemed in sync.

And such a treat to the world of fanfic at this time of the world's woes.

Looking forward to chapter 2...

I love this so much. You really do the best Anne and Gilbert love scenes and you never skimp on the reality - Anne's breast milk and stretch marks, the sweat and everything.
Regina chapter 4 . 12/12/2020
FNAJ,
I’m afraid my review sounded as if I was implying your writing irritates me. Never! I’ll blame it on the awesome margarita I’d had earlier.
It’s true I didn’t care much for the mother and wife Anne in canon because I thought she’d lost what was so endearing about her in the first place.
I adored AOGG because I could so relate to young Anne - her temper, grudges, daydreaming and knack for finding trouble. That was all me and still is to an extent. I lost my grandmother the same year I read the book and I totally related to her sense of loss at losing Matthew.
However, adult Anne became too perfect and Stepfordish. I missed her high jinks and the humor that was present in the first book.

Anyway, you definitely have a sense of humor and I’d love to see more of it. We all need more laughs, desperately.

Ok, I finally got around to this and I enjoyed it very much.
It’s no secret that I’ve never been a fan of housewife Anne and I’ve cringed when Gilbert refers to his wife as “Anne-girl” in the books. It’s sweet coming from an elderly woman but feels condescending and weird to hear Gilbert call her that. (It’s not so bad in your version.)

I’m not very good at critiquing passionate love scenes but I will say that this chapter was believable and didn’t irritate me. (That’s huge as I am very irritable these days.)
I am totally onboard with a follow up, of course.

I do think I prefer Anne and Gilbert before the kids came along. Kids are awesome but they are definitely a mood-killer. (I may have told you this before, sorry.)

Yes, it’s very bad here but I’m amazed at how people are adjusting and making the best of things.
Pre- pandemic, I disliked al-fresco dining but here I am dining outside in 36 degree temps and with the heat lamps it’s actually fun! (I’m coming off the buzz of a very strong margarita. There’s no shortage of tequila, at least !)
The face mask hides my age and I’ve cut back on my makeup regimen. At work, I no longer worry if I have food in my teeth when I’m talking to people. (I think I may miss the masks a little they are no longer required.)
Not to mention, if this pandemic can bring me some more FNAJ then I’m ok.

I hope you are ok as well.

Merry Christmas !

I feel like a broken record, but lord have mercy, your smut is to DIE for! The sensuality, the clear and undeniable passion and LOVE between them, and how trusting and open Anne is with her desires, it's all just so djfhflkbgfkwergk *chef's kiss*

Again, many apologies for the delayed responses! This was such a delicious read, per usual!
StarlingChild4 chapter 3 . 12/8/2020
I'm terribly late with these latest chapters, but seriously, once again and a thousand times more, it never ceases to amaze me how you write these lovemaking scenes to be so deliciously hot and softly romantic! Gilbert worshipping Anne's body would make any woman swoon, tbh hdfvksdbgjkngfbhn *heart eyes*

katherine-with-a-k chapter 4 . 11/27/2020
Yes yes yes to Ingleside LOVE! This was gorgeous, J, oh my! Only you could make chicken pies so hot it makes me blush. Who knew flakes of pastry could be so sexy? Not Susan, I'm thinking.

This probably won't surprise you but I ADORED the scene where they were talking about their early days. I have always been fascinated by the passion Gilbert had for Anne, even when he thought he didn't stand a chance. The candy and the apple were perfect nods, but his wolfish grin when he remembered how much he wanted her at Redmond! Argh. I think I am going to have to read Blythe View again.

Now this long, slow loving business. Well that was exquisitely done. I loved how Gilbert was all, no no this night is all about Anne, and then quickly revised his opinion. I loved how Anne seemed to understand exactly what he had in mind. Then there were all the deft little touches to remind me that they weren't young honeymooners anymore, but parents. Her little stretch marks, the drop of milk, their comfort with each other. It was all so swoonworthy, and generous and of course my favourite bit, perfectly Anne and Gilbert. Like when he said, "you understand" (in his ever so casual way) I was just YES, this is the Gilbert of the books. It makes it all that much richer and more enjoyable, because it's really them, right here in this story, and I fall in love with these two all over again.

As for a story before Christmas, YES PLEASE! How many other times have Anne and Gilbert come home from some reason? I hope it's a lot, because I want (no I need) stories about all those times too!
