It's a beautiful balmly golden Autumn afternoon here, and this story feels just like that. I have always loved the way you can make their lovemaking so fresh and original every time, but this had a comfort to it, something encapsulated in the words "the safe warm feeling of sure love." Argh, how do you do it? I love this so much, I think (I would hope) I have favourited everything of yours, but something about this tender little scene makes me wish there was another button I could push, because you sure just pushed mine. I never really understood why so many readers clamour for Ingleside Anne and Gilbert, and then I read this and I think, OF COURSE they do! This is gorgeous and swoony and hot, and the end, oh the end ENDED me. Lecherous Gilbert with this silver tipped curls and his relentless pace mmmm... You do know how to please a dear reader ;o)

Oh I loved this! How are you able to blend such wholesome, darling touches with such sexy SEXY moments? There I was all, Oh how sweet, her little round belly, and the pansies and the children, the Japanese lanterns and Susan pronouncing this is no common day (Oh Susan if you only knew...) with that heady scene of Gilbert slowly undressing his much missed wife (he does like feet, doesn't he?) and then Anne taking charge. Go girl!
It was all so lovely, and then slowly slowly (a bit like being undressed) it got oh so very sultry. As I read it for the first time I found myself thinking, Is it me, or is it getting hot in here? The thing about being in lock down is that there is a scarcity of places to be to indulge in such writing, but then I think, well a big family didn't get in the way of Anne and Gilbert's enjoyment ;o)
What did I enjoy? Lots of things (and not all of them sexy). I loved the way you showed us the relationship Anne had with her children, and especially with little Shirley. I get that he is Susan's favourite, but he was and always will be Anne's little brown boy :o) I love the way you have of taking seemingly insignificant details about Maud's stories (a suit here, a blouse there) and weaving the most delicious stories from them. When Anne said she remembered Gilbert's blue suit, I found myself thinking, Yeah, Anne so do I...
But mostly I loved the climax (too obvious?) When Anne said "Only you can do this to me" I knew EXACTLY what hearing that was going to do to Gilbert. I also loved it because it showed how special and important long term relationship sex is, when you have long years to get to know each other and learn about each other and yourself. How knowing exactly what would turn the other on, wasn't boring, but the very thing that made their lovemaking exciting. It was... I can't think of another word but perfect!

You know, that station scene was my fav reference from AoI. It was a small, sweet scene and one of the few times in the book where A & G behaved like a couple still in love. I didn’t like Gilbert much in AoI as I’ve mentioned before. He wasn’t my idea of what I’d want in a husband, however your characterization definitely has changed things!

This story felt true to LMM but your Susan wasn’t irritating like in canon. (That Mrs. Doctor Dear bit is like nails on a chalkboard for me.) I only wish Gilbert had come up with a better endearment for his wife instead of copying an old lady. Anne-Girl just feels weird for a young husband to call his beautiful wife. However, I do appreciate that you are being faithful to LMM.

It goes without saying the sex is my fav part but
if I had to chose a non-sex scene it would be Anne standing by the window with the fog rolling in from the sea over the Glen. I adore moonlit beaches but FKAJ, will I ever get a chance to see one this year? I don’t know...nobody knows. I canceled my Florida Gulf trip a month ago and instead spent what would’ve been my vacation screening people for Covid-19. I’m so grateful to be employed and my family is healthy and that’s all that matters but still I can’t help but long for ocean breezes. I prefer using the Covid-19 term because Coronavirus takes me back to Cancun where I was first introduced to Corona beer served under the Mexican palms by handsome, engaging waiters with names like Eduardo...

What was I even talking about? Oh yeah, I loved that scene with Gilbert gazing at Anne by the window with the fog and stuff.

You are one of the few fanfic authors whose stories I still read. Inexplicably, I’ve lost interest in most AOGG stories. Yet when I see certain names like yours pop up in my email it’s like hearing from an old friend and I must open it. Even if I don’t have time to read at the moment I still have to say hello back.
