Belladonna Nightshade! really? At least people are beginning to plan for a future. There must have been many who had little or no hope of surviving. Now that Arthur, Molly, Charlie and Ron are gone, will Fred be allowed to live? One of the biggest mistakes (IMO) JKR made was killing the wrong Weasley.

Is Gellert genuine in his regret, or is it a ploy to fool Dumbledore and get some vicarious revenge against him? With the losses Voldemort keeps sustaining, one would think he'd have trouble finding more mercenaries willing to fight for him. No matter the wages, you can't spend it if you're dead. Thanks for sharing.

Never regret teaching children to defend themselves. How many more would have been lost without training? Brilliantly written, you feel the kids' terror. The anger the older students feel watching friends be injured and killed. Even with oblivation, how much longer will the statute of secrecy hold? Somewhere along the line, someone will be missed and the story will be out. Maybe only scandal sheets at first, but eventually a reputable paper or newscast will investigate.
