Reviews for Arrow
triojediknights chapter 11 . 1/26
Meant for last chapter, which I apparently already reviewed years ago, so…. :

The Bataan Death March of Panem. It’s their Trail of Tears. The Settlers remind me of the South Vietnamese who were playing double agent, secretly working for the Vietcong. You’re telling me there are three different Threads in the Peacekeeper high command across three different districts? 5, 10 and 12. They’re the Manchettis/Scavos of the Peacekeepers!
triojediknights chapter 9 . 1/26
Thank you for redeeming Evelyn! Also: did… did you just sneak in a descendant for Wheaton? Wheaton Glover?
triojediknights chapter 8 . 1/26
“Cashmere is on my left.” That means Cecelia is two pedestals and a spoke away from Katniss, since the shot in the movie shows Cashmere on Katniss’s right, in the same wedge.

I think I would have liked to have seen her and Brutus share a goodbye kiss even as he killed her. OK, in Victors’ Chronicles, Brutus’s chapter should be him hunting Peeta through the jungle and having a conversation about why Cecelia wanted him to find the boy. Was Cecelia trying to recruit Brutus to the rebellion?
triojediknights chapter 7 . 1/26
“Two of the young women find a discrete corner and make love, probably for the last time.” Ummm…. Couldn’t you have written that out in more detailed smut, please? And while I don’t read a lot of gay/queer fanfiction, I have to admit: there’s something beautiful about the nephews of two best friends finding love.

I like how the quick inventory of numbered ‘Camps’ and how they fare seems to mirror the Districts.
triojediknights chapter 6 . 1/26
Chevy was the Victor of the Twenty-Eighth Games. Not the Twenty-Ninth. Bit of a typo there. A Code of Silence is a very real thing among regions that have waged atrocities. It permeated Wilmington, North Carolina for over a century following the 1898 Insurrection, the only instance in United States history where a duly elected government was successfully overthrown.

The sight of parents holding up their children begging to get aboard the trains harkened back to the fall of Saigon in 1975 and the fall of Kabul in 2021.
triojediknights chapter 5 . 1/26
Are you going off of the book and not the movie? In the movie, Foxface dies placing fifth (oddly appropriate). So the Deputy Head Peacekeeper in 4 was a spy, but the Deputy Head Peacekeeper in 5 actually was a traitor, gunning down his own comrades.
triojediknights chapter 4 . 1/26
The Clans are so interesting to me. They reminded me of the Bear Clan, the group of Jedi Younglings tutored by Master Yoda. Tiberias Lockwood is my favorite hero so far. You seem to imply Briseis and Cerulea were lovers.
triojediknights chapter 3 . 1/26
Actually, it was 148 children who were Reaped from District 3, since Wiress and Beetee were Reaped twice.
triojediknights chapter 2 . 1/26
“The cruelty is the point.” I see you and what you did there, taking a famous summary from the first Trump presidency!
triojediknights chapter 1 . 1/26
The fact that they caned Luster down the hill… it invoked imagery of him as a British Redcoat and the district citizens are the American colonists.
Oceantail-ff.net chapter 12 . 10/30/2024
just stunning

the sections that ALWAYS get to me is 1) the anonymous entry in chapter 9 about the man killing the institute gold tag and 2) the entirety of chapter 10

your fanon is my canon as far as i'm concerned. the way you breathe so much more life and depth into the hunger games is just amazing
Red Sting chapter 9 . 10/29/2024
You share a simliar characterisation to SilverMoon864 on District 9 and the way many of them avoid the rebellion and try to 'keep their heads down, keep to themselves and don't draw attention'. I think it works overall but I also think it was good to hear from one of the rebellion members in this chapter. The Districts where my characterisation of them is closest to yours are Districts 2, 6, 7 and 10.

I like this chapter, I think it's a good balance of lots of things. Shaleena must be the daughter of Evelyn's troublemaker [based] brother I think? I liked hearing from her too with this gentle intimate character detail.

Ms. Clemens, yes, it counted.

Someone in a review, I cant remember who, said once that Abram is like the Neville Longbottom of this story in his powerup and I see that even more after another look at him in the fight here.

Good chapter! Good work. Glad to have reviewed this story.
Red Sting chapter 5 . 10/29/2024
This was an interesting chapter! I think the Children's Crusade is a brilliant idea and even more of it would have only added to the chapter. I absolutely love the sense of young idealism rising up and being what does the most damage against the Capitol. It's more characterisation then I think we ever really got for most of them.

So the Campers, or Romani, are just gone lol? If thats what they want, take a long break from Panem and get a fresh start. Maybe Seattle is the city they made it to?

Miles is a pretty likeable protagonist based on his characterisation in leadership.

I have a soft spot for children which is why I was kind of uncomfortable reading Cecilias story sections at 'The Red' [I think you intended that to be uncomfortable though] so I found it extremely satisfying when the Peacekeepers who went after probably underage girls here, as well as the deputy head Peacekeeper in 1 who liked young boys, were all killed. Thats excellent stuff. [Is that Peacekeeper the same one who Gloss was with in his chapter?].

The last sentences characterise District 5 fairly well here, more so than they got in most of your story. I like this chapter overall. Now the final chapter for me to review is District 9.
Red Sting chapter 8 . 10/29/2024
I had forgotten there were three chapters of this story I never reviewed so I thought I'd make a few notes here, two notes before the chapter review;

I finally noticed where Cora's race is mentioned; in the POV of her District partner in 'Quell' he calls her a 'beautiful, dark, well dressed' girl. Its ambigious but still information. Quell was a good story too, I thought.

I also wanted to say I might have been a bit harsh on Cashmere in her chapter; though she still spoke in that awkward Game of Thronesy dialogue some of the time I think, thinnnk she was genuinely opening up to Beetee and had made a moral change and commitment to, you know, the cause. So I give her some more credit.

I think this is a good chapter overall though, after reading your works so many times, I get a bit weary of as I said the overly Game of Thronesy dialogue. I'm glad Hectore showed some humanity and Brutus, well, is Brutus. I suppose his mocking Seeder must be for the audience since you said that he respected every victor regardless of how they won or ability or which skills they possessed. Cecilia, well, is Cecilia. Off to the next place with you now, honey...I think this was a good conclusion for her character, good job.
haylebug0825 chapter 1 . 3/12/2024
