I laughed about the accounting software. I worked briefly for an accountant that had a program that took 8 floppy disks to back up the daily entries. Took forever to get it done.

I was used to a program that backed everything up on the hdd. (different accounting firm, best employers ever.) I had to quit due to getting married and moving to another stat. :(

I'm glad you decided to expand this story beyond your original intention of a one-shot. I've enjoyed seeing the events of the first chapter through the perspectives of GIT and the Grangers. For however long this story goes, I hope it continues to be told through these different perspectives.

Some of my favorite stories over the years have featured Harry having adult allies who actually acted with his well-being (and mental health) in mind, usually in defiance of Dumbledore's plans and intentions for Harry, and this story has taken a unique and entertaining approach to showing that support. I love that Sirius and Tonks seem to be the ringleaders on the wizarding side while the Grangers have the muggle side covered. Involved and supportive Grangers are my favorite Grangers. I'm also glad that you got McGonagall on-board. She's probably my favorite fanfiction ally on the Hogwarts staff for Harry.

I'm looking forward to reading what comes next.

Is Janey supposed to be a nickname because Hermione's mother is named Jane and Hermione is like her or because Hermione's middle name is Jean...?

The story is interesting, the writing is good. This would be nearly perfect if Hermione didn't have a crush on Harry beforehand, like in the books. She was genuinely interested in Victor, after all. And it means so much for Hermione to stick up for Harry put of friendship, not a crush. It would be great if the feelings came along and surprised them, after all the growing up they had to do. Because they were still pretty innocent of life's greatest horrors before that tragic end of their fourth year, it would make sense for them to value each other even more and see each other in a new light.

You know this could be so much more, not only seeing how other react but how there relationship progress etc..

I love this fic. It’s sweet, funny, and refreshingly realistic. I always wondered at that plot hole (of course Hermione would have visited Harry!) and I think you provide a great picture of what could have (should have) been. Thanks for the update and I will happily read every addition to this ‘one shot’ ;)
