I never understood why Ron got prefect. Harry's grades were better, and probably any of the other boys in the dorm were better. Well, Neville was too self-conscious to be a prefect, but Dean appeared to be the most studious among the boys. Not sure about Seamus.

All of that can be stopped if Harry says he'll be home schooled.
