The amount of patience Harry has in spades. He may not be the best in simply waiting out things in combat but he certainly made do with multiple temper checks to quell his possible magical outbursts.

I think this chapter flowed in the way in should have.
You could have added the angst of Harry giving Peter the cold shoulder, etc, but didn't.
Harry's reaction is understandable, but so are the actions Stark and Co took (other than the ambush that is).
I get the impression that Harry is trying to reconcile that while he still needs to be cautious, his reasons for the need for caution are wayyy different now.
Can't wait for more!

Welp, that was definitely the best possible handling of that fallout. Nicely done! A couple of points made me groan out loud for Harry and his questionable life choices. _

“The wand has magical components to let it channel magic… Without it, casting spells is nearly impossible."

*epic facepalm*

Wow Harry, why don’t you just snap your wand yourself and hand the pieces over right now.

And later he’s all:

“he felt possessive, in a manner of speaking, towards his secrets. There was no particular reason for it, not fear or an abundance of caution. Perhaps he felt as though they didn't deserve to know that much about him, even if it might prove advantageous for them to.”

*double epic facepalm*

Riiiight. No reason to keep secrets from people who’ve proven themselves to be unworthy of trust and prone to assuming the worst of people AND prone to going too far in an attempt to be proactive about stopping those perceived threats. And also break the law while threatening you with your own lawbreaking like total hypocrites from their position of power.

Yeah, them knowing all your secrets could be tooootally advantageous.

For them.

Personally, I felt Harry’s worry that Peter could continue spying on him for Stark was an entirely valid fear. If I were Harry I’d simply pack and move. But, I’m glad he didn’t because Peter actively volunteering to get magic’ed against telling secrets was a great move to establish trust and probably the only thing that would work. Even Harry’s thinking to allow Peter to choose to tell them, but be notified if he did via that contract thing, was a great response that allowed trust in turn - and tested the value of Peter’s word. The fact that he then *didn’t* do it was.. disappointing. Maybe he needs time to make it tho? _ I can hope!

Like Harry was thinking earlier - an apology means nothing if the one apologising will just do it again and Stark clearly didn’t care enough to actively change his process - only enough to shruggingly agree that this one part wasn’t the best choice oh well never mind, lean nothing and move on.

Hmmm.

Yes, they didn't go suddenly where Harry forgives easily. He is jaded and needs to make sure of them before anything further I their friendship happens. Thank you for the update. It was well needed especially since one of my sisters is mad at me and told me not to talk to her anymore. She was serious about it. There is nothing I can do but respect what she wants. Sorry. I just needed to get this off my chest and I hope you don't mind. I don't really have friends.
