Well, this sort of ruined the story.

Not sure I understand the decision here at all, from a narrative perspective.

Without the Kyuubi or the toads (for sage mode), Naruto already had a practically impossible task.

Now, he’s lost 2 years and is crippled? After a year of hardcore training he might become an average Jonin? Assuming he can get back in fighting shape at all?

Sure, shit happens in the Ninja world, so stuff like this occurs. But it does sort of just end the story. Nowhere to realistically go from here without a complete Deus Ex Machina event, which goes against everything built up so far.

Gonna read an extra chapter or two and hope this is some Genjutsu.

A strange turn to be sure. Not sure what Orochimaru would want with an Uzumaki, exactly. Pretty sure he has Hashirama cells, right? Thats Uzumaki but better. Maybe he’s just pissed at the Fourth?

What strikes me as odd, as I read this, is the decision making of the Hokage. They were almost certain that Sasuke would turn traitor AND they could be relatively certain that Orochimaru would be out looking for him.

Seems, to me, like they should have sent someone to counter a threat on that level, instead of Shikamaru.

I dont think Money’s can teach Sage Mode in canon. Hopefully they can in this AU, as that’s one of the only remaining routes to high S-Class that Naruto has. At least in a short timespan.

I doubt he learns FTG. The technique iself is confusing, as it seems to be some weird cross of Fuinjutsu and space/time Ninjutsu, but regardless of the specifics, its a technique only mastered by two of the smartest Shinobi to ever live. Naruto might have the talent for it, but i doubt he can learn it by 16-17.

He has no bloodline, no tailed beast, is not going to learn the Rasengan, is not going to have FTG, and somehow has to get on the level of Madara Uchiha in 3 years. Yeah, hopefully the Monkey clan has sage mode… and hopefully Madara is nerfed in this fic, because i just dont see Naruto having a chance in hell lol

It astonishes me how many bandits decide to live right outside Konoha in fanfics.

Act III: Ch1: Great story until this point. If you had ended this chapter with a plan for Naruto to turn this to his advantage, I would have maybe found it in me to keep reading.
Something like convincing Tsunade to implant Senju cells in him, or his Uzumaki Bloodline full awakens with chakra chains... But a long road to recovery just sounds meh.

It’s good that this story is abandoned because of all the unnecessary nerfs to Naruto simply to progress plot. Shikamaru being Naruto’s equal in fuinjutsu is insane to me when Naruto is the son of the best fuinjutsu practitioners ever.

I know you are increasing the level of everyone but I hope you keep in mind that as a logical point and for the sake of the plot Naruto has the fastest growth rate and potential out of everyone even without Kurama he's Ashura's reincarnation with his while chakra dormant is still having an effect in him as well as being an Uzumaki (Which again having Asura's chakra might enhance his Uzumaki powers too).

I hope you won't have Shikamaru become a rival for Naruto in fuinjutsu since the art is the hardest shinobi technique for a reason.

I also hope you will show at a certain point that Neji is incompatible being a Jinchuriki, I like Neji but if we go by a certain viewpoint Kurama's chakra is the most powerful and corrosive (Due to his Hate) and has been shown that only Uzumaki can safely seal him, Naruto being the reincarnation of the Sage's son as well as being an Uzumaki was able to safely channel his chakra after he beat him.

You already changed a lot by having him be the host of the nine tails but if you add this scenario you can have Kurama be returned to Naruto at some point in the future since there's no logical way to explain how Neji would be able to channel and control Kurama's power without tearing his power apart since Neji also doesn't have any of the Ototsuki clan powers that were inherited by Sasuke, Naruto and Hinata

Imagine your first chuunin mission is to kill a Jinchuuriki ROFL. Bro this is Naruto Hard Mode. Then again, SI's need to be challenged. It is essential to the trope.
