Holy shit. I just spent four hours on this and didn't even realize that time was passing. This was fantastic from start to finish. I figured it was either Bran or Jon who was using the book, but that reveal still knocked my socks off. Jon's voyage into Valyria and all the dragon lore explored there was also something I never really see much. You really jave done us all a favor with this masterpiece, it reminds me a bit of a HP cross called Wizard of Harrenhal in its effort to shed light on the magic of Planetos. Seriously, thanks for writing this, and I wish you all the luck in the world!

Interesting story even if I didn't like the whole Rhaegar married Lyanna crap anymore than the implication he took her against her will. She and he were morons, the kingsguard were also morons and that moronity pandemic spread and so we get canon game of thrones.

I think you got some part of Ned Stark correct, he was too inactive at almost everything and Caitlin was incredibly intolerant too.

I'll be honest. I was eager when I read the summary and started reading. But No. Big No. Right from the beginning you started showing Jon as this pariah nobody liked, being blamed and punished for things he didn't do. Robb being nasty to him. Catelyn scolding him. Other Lords and servants snubbing him and making bad comments. Etc. Why? Why give Jon this terrible upbringing when it is clear he was just a noble pampered rich brat (just like all the Stark kids) with access to all sorts of benefits and always being treated like a Lord? Jon never knew the life of a bastard and was never ever treated as such! Why would you have Robb (of all people!) being nasty to him when he considered Jon a brother? Why have Catelyn be so bad when she's the only woman outside of Dorne who would accept Jon having the life he did without complaining? You don't have a more tolerant woman in Westeros. Why have other servants and Lords slander Jon when he was considered a Stark and treated like a trueborn Stark son by everyone?
It had the promise of a good story.

One of a very, very few gamer fics to ever be completed - an impressive feat! Much as I enjoy them, I do think the gamer premise is fundamentally flawed in some way. It just doesn't seem to be sustainable for a story, and the only way it ends up working is if the gamer elements are dropped after being used to power up the protagonist. Which is of course exactly what you did here.
