![]() ![]() ![]() awesome chapter, and happy bithday! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Always a pleasure to read this one, though it’s been so long, I feel I need to reread it (oh darn, what a horrible thing lol). Enjoyed the fight and the final move though it sounded to me more like the lotus in naruto. Can’t wait to see Yui’s reaction to hearing about midoriya being hurt. I imagine it will be adorable. Also, random observation. During the Momo fight, all three characters said things were according to plan. Was that supposed to muddy the waters because Yuga was also acting shifty? One piece of feedback: the first portion of the usj where the villains show up seemed off. I’m not sure about the proper terminology but I feel like you usually write from a characters perspective (ex: the Momo fight). In that scene, there was no perspective and it felt a bit wooden (I think that would be the term. Very much felt like it was just a list of events. X did y. A said b. Etc. I think it suffered from the lack of personal perspective. Can’t wait for more. Always love this fic. Gonna go reread it again |
![]() ![]() ![]() Izuku is currently on that adrenaline and he still feels like crap. He's not gonna be happy when it wears off. Or when Recovery Girl gets to his shins. |
![]() ![]() ![]() That was worth the wait. Thanks for the chapter! :D :) |
![]() ![]() ![]() Wild and crazy idea: Young Izuku gets pulled into a DnD group by a bunch of geeks and nerds. At first, he starts as a player, but as he grows older and more into it, he becomes a DM, and uses lessons from both to actually train himself into becoming a hero. I can sort of understand why canon Izuku didn’t - its kind of hard to do when the epitome of heroism is a super-strong muscle head, followed by a fire bender on steroids. However, most DnD characters are otherwise normal people who got training. Sure you have the Druids and the Clerics and Sorcerers, but even Wizards need YEARS of magical training to reach Level 1. However, life isn’t a DnD campaign, which makes things easier as there aren’t multi class requirements. Izuku has the idea of taking principles of multiple classes to create his own homebrew hero style. He’s basically a Rogue/Artificier, who is training in Monk and Fighter techniques. He use using his ‘Artificier’ Techniques to emulate magic, and purposefully making it look like magic to obfuscate what he is really doing. His DnD mates, all older kids who have had to learn how to fight off bullies, help him with it before they have to leave for college. In the meantime, Izuku hires himself out as a DM for other groups, using that experience to become a tactical and strategic genius. This eventually allows him to meet Toshi (All Might), who has been looking for a new group for a while. Taking an interest in the wellbeing of the young DM, he investigates more and discovers Izuku training to be a hero. He decides to help out, mostly by getting Aizawa (who is secretly a TTRPG fan, though maybe not into DnD) to provide suggestions. One of them may also introduce Izuku into some of the more infamous DnD podcasts (Critical Roll?) which provides some VERY good examples of Ranger and Bard work - they may become later additions to his growing skill set. Izuku’s DMing efforts drive him into researching fiction, myths, and legends in order to create his own Universe. Because of that, he ends up bumping into other individuals. He comes across Himiko before she goes rogue, and she ends up joining as a training partner and player. Shinso might have been researching ‘Enchanting’ magic to become better with his quirk, and gets drawn into both gaming and training. Setsuna and/or Reiko from the future Class B might have an interest in geek culture, and get drawn in as well. Finally, Tokoyami strikes me as a darkness themed fanboy, and might get Izuku interested in other, darker TTRPG models as well. Before long, the party hits UA, and news spreads of their collective hobby. Bakugo (of either gender) would definitely not be into it, but the fact that it allowed Izuku to rank top five of the Entrance Exam pisses them off and makes them snoop into it. Others eventually take an interest in the fact that Izuku and his table mates already have strategies, tactics, and inside jokes of their own. Toshi, meanwhile, is getting involved in Izuku’s game world and ends up becoming a DM for it. He might not be as adaptable as Izuku, but he’s been into this for much longer. Izuku on the other hand is excited to be a player in the world he and his friends have been flushing out for so long. Eventually, both 1A and !B end up joining some sort of gaming group. Within months, Momo becomes so skilled that Izuku and Toshi push her into DMing her own game (she loves it). Aizawa drags in a couple other systems for them to play with. Nezu ends up joining as a DM himself. Eventually, they decide to call it the Strategy and Tactics Afterschool Workshop. Oddly enough, this helps lead to All for One’s downfall, as Aoyoma ENJOYS the roleplaying aspect so much it drives the evil bastard crazy. Whenever the young man goes to play, AoO checks out. Unfortunately, as he makes his presence more known to the heroes, Aizawa, Nezu, and Izuku start testing out strategies in their games and spreading them around (Toshi isn’t a big brain DM - he just knows the rules real well and has a lot of experience both playing and DMing). Aoyama, somehow picking up on this, manages to plant a few suggestions as well during the game. Only Nezu takes notice, and the rat thing makes a point not to make it obvious. |

![]() ![]() ![]() Happy birthday! To be honest Rock Field is so versatile so I'd think I'd give you a little extra analysis on it. Due to Izuku being able to turn metal into a liquid in his field he can make the world's smallest components because the metal would be form fitting around everything else just going slowly inch at a time. |
![]() ![]() ![]() the quality makes up for the long wait though! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Another great chapter as always mate. Loved the suplex and got a chuckle from singing. Nothing bad to say about this and it always brightens my day when you post. Happy Birthday mate, laff it up. |
![]() ![]() ![]() i also love how you utilize Keqing. Genshin has a plethora of charactersbullshit powers that arent utilized properly at all. I like how she's basically Minato Namikaze. If her hairpins aren't made of specific mystical property to be used that wayonly require a certain type of metal, Izuku could make her moreother types, like kunaistuff to Flash to. |
![]() ![]() ![]() ... You're gonna continue this story, right? I'll poke you if you don't. Repeatedly. With a sharpened spoon. i love the build-up of this story, the characters, the... mild.. dramathe powersI'll be damned if I didnt just wait a whole fcking school year to only get one last chapter. |
