Honestly the only thing I can say for this story is that it was pointless. Nothing changed in canon. I know some stories are just for the ride type of things but this story really wasn't that well written to go that route. Not say that it was badly written, but the relationships, character growth, and unique perspective to make a story that pretty much adds a little detail to canon simply has to be extremely high in my opinion to be worth it.
An example would be the Dumbledore assassination attempts. You could have kept that canon compliant but actually added details with each attempt. This would make the conflict more real and cause investment from the readers. As it was we got... pretty much nothing on that front aside from the first attempt.
The worst part is that it could have changed in the end. All you had to do was make an ending where Lily Potter lived and it would have been satisfying to read. I find it a loss that you didn't since it would have been a good place to end the story and easy since you are under no force to continue writing a sequel. All in all I give it a five out of ten.
A good idea, executed somewhat competently, with characters who were fleshed out and consistent in their beliefs, a steady timeline, good dialogue. In the end though the plot killed it for me.

one of the best fanfics i ve ever read. Im delighted to have ignored it was a crossover otherwise i wouldnt have read it. and still, so canon. i am always looking for quality fanfics telling the www1 and marauders fate, and its so rare to find a decent one. wow im still in shock with this one

I know this was written sometime when I was still in middle school, but I wanted to say that this was an excellent story- I really loved it! Funnily enough, since it's not marked a crossover, I had no idea that it was w. Buffy the vampire slayer, since I've never seen it. I'm glad I read it anyway! I haven't read a marauders era fic that deals with the events leading up to j/l's death, so this was fascinating, especially as I'm working on one of my one set in the same time. Congratulations on a wonderful work!

A great story. Fitting into what we know of canon (or at least did at the time of writing, given the differences to Sirius' family), while keeping the worlds suitably separate. Gives a great reason for why Dumbledore really did think it was Sirius, and an alternate explanation for Harry's survival.

As for the red-haired witch... took me to the epilogue to realise that it referred to Willow with Xander as the 'boy'.
