I suspected it earlier but now I think that Ashina is also our main character, but just a past reincarnation of him. Ashina is basically to OC Naruto, what Hashirama is to Rin/Naruto (Canon) and what Madara is to Sasuke.

I definitely agree that this should have been split up. It took me days to read through.

I spent about an hour searching through my favourites trying to find this, only to realize it was this one that I had already opened by pure chance. Ages ago "you were dropped as a baby, I was thrown at the wall made me die laughing. Ashina is the most hype OC I have ever encountered.

TLDR: Just rewatch naruto, no need to waste time reading poorly paced plagiarism.

I will admit, this story is good… if it was written about 10 years ago, when good grammar, punctuation, and spelling was all that was required for a fic to be popular. Unfortunately, when grammarly exists, plot and innovation is king.

I read 12 chapters, approx 170k words, thus feel I can accurately rate this fic. It agonizingly slow paced. It is very VERY cliche, boring, and predictable for something that was written recently. If I wanted to watch Naruto again I’d actually watch it, not spend 3 hours reading this summary.

Any author that attempts the bare minimum of changing canon has my respect, because they grew a spine and attempted to write something that wasn’t already there. There is no creative use of chakra, no deviation in the way it’s learned, and not even a significant change in the cast. I’d call this plagiarism, but that’s an insult to those students who work hard to at least paraphrase the original.

The verdict? If this was a decade ago, it’d be a 9/10. But this is recent, and I’m certain I’ve already read this in the dozens of twinfics that already exist with this same plot. No originality. No creativity. No innovation. You cannot even call canon changed with how little you did. I’m struggling to remember the differences between this fic and canon and I just read it. Congrats, you bought a grammarly subscription. 4/10. Thank god for my skimming speed.
