Loved this story! When you wrote "Then Harry Sonorused himself. "Happy news, Tommy. Today the one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches you. You killed my parents, Tommy, and I owe you payback."" I pictured something like the Inigo Montoya line from ‘The Princess Bride’. I have always wanted to read a story like that. Harry going “I am looking for a pale, noseless man. Do you know of him? He killed my parents” or some such.

Why wasn't sirius on the list?

Great plot. I love AU stories. Commendable research and wonderful imagination. JKR has created a world that is fantastic and hats off to her creativity but her treatment of characters is sometimes unconvincing. In my opinion JKR favours Weaseley family and treats her characters as objects and not humans. Her clarification that she gifted Hermione to Ron for personal reasons. Also the personality of Dumbledore and his omissions are unbelievable. In my opinion a man who dumps a baby in the winter night of November on the doorstep of strangers in Surrey deservs a dementor kiss. In your stories you have identified the villains very clearly. Dumbledore, McGonagle, Remus Lupin, were all culprits.

I've read and re-read this and I still don't get why Harry did not name Sirius as one to get long life. Esp if he's been flirting with Amelia Bones. See if he gets with Amelia, then he has something to live for (besides his godson) so I don't think "Harry knew Sirius would embrace death so he can be reunited with his best friend, James." is a good enough reason to not include Sirius' name in the list.

I've read and reread this story several times and the "I'm willing to bet the price of a root canal" always gets me. I am both amused a parent would say this yet shocked they would as I know what the price of a root canal is or was around time this was written... oh I mean I used to know it was obscenely high.
