Hermione is obviously not thinking for herself at the moment if she truly believes Harry wouldn't want to be contacted after everything he has just endured. However, the Hermione of canon does seem to trust all adults. Let's hope she learns, and soon!, that some adults lie and are utterly untrustworthy.

Authority is only allowed so much control over youif you allow it. I taught my kids to think for themselves, no matter who says to do something, including their family, think it through and then politely (or NOT so politely as the case may be towards some authority figures) decline. If necessary, forcefully decline. Unfortunately, my daughter had to use Karate to forcefully decline an Authority figure, once. With an added, 'Did I give you permission to put your hands on me? !' This same individual raped someone a few hours later and was arrested the next morning.

Scary world our kids live in. We want to wrap them up in bubble wrap, but as my daughter would say, 'Moooom, we'd suffocateliterally!' Allowing them to grow up and seeing them use the skills we taught them is wonderful, yet scary at times.

I believe the Doctors Granger need to have a talk with Hermione about trust. Somewhere along the way she confused respect that is earned with respect irregardless of their actions.

I don't think I have ever read about a Fudge who actually changed for the better in order to protect Wizarding Britain. I have seen him apologize and resign, but not once have I seen him step up to the task. So bravo!
I have seen Minerva resign a couple times, but never over the selection of Prefects. It has always made me angry she allowed that particular injustice, so I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next! Thanks for sharing!

Even though there isn't anything she can do about Harry's refusal to be betrothed to Ginny, seeing as he's Lord Potter now, I still expected her to pitch a fit over it. I don't like her or her 2 youngest children, so I enjoy seeing them make fools of themselves.
