Lucius-finger makes perfect sense to me.
I expect a single finger is dramatically easier to fully regrow with miscellaneous magics than the complexity of a whole hand- restoring actual flesh and bone, not a magical prosthesis. It also is something that is a lot more plausible to have more benign explanation if they used "normal" gealing magics to fix it and it was in any way detectable, say upon a healers' scan of some sort- it was just a knife therefore no residue of a spell, and "normal" healing methods, so who's to say there wasn't some unpleasant accident that severed it? A High Society Twit like Lucius wouldn't want there to be any hint of a mar on such visible skin, of course he'd go all out with a perfect, full, repair. Of course he wouldn't talk about it, if it doesn't benefit him some way like to sue someone. Wouldn't want to look bad, if it's partly due to his own incompetence at something - offensive implication to him but far less dangerous and still an effective explanation for why he hide it.

Also of note for this particular chapter- cheering for Headmistress Masterson! She and that whole line are Great!

You writers love to introduce anachronisms into your stories. The name Ebenezer didn't come into use until the 1600s at the earliest, after the King James translation of the Bible. Since Slytherin lived several hundred years before that it's not likely for him to have had a more modern name.

Transfiguration? Herbology? What happened to those grades? They're required core classes through OWLS.

Once again a very good read. I have a disorder where i suffer through depression. This and your other stories lift my mood, and distract me from the worst of it. Thank you for what you have given to me through your wonderful stories.

Haha. Garden snakes with delusions of grandeur

This story is epic! I absolutely loved it from beginning to end and honestly find myself sad it's over. This story also holds one of the most unique renditions of Necromancy I've ever read. Absolutely brilliant! I love how it was mostly about healing rather than violence like most versions. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy those too but this was a completely different take. There was also the beautiful fact that both Harry and Tom were dark but not actually evil. I always love a good dark Harry story with or without the evil. Of course you also brought in blood magic and wonderful bits of world building. This is definitely a story I will read again! I also really like how the romance was very slow build for Harry and Charlie. You did amazing with that and how it grew from friendship without losing that quality. I honestly can't wait to read more of your stories.

I know I'm only about halfway through the story but I had to stop and leave a review. This is an absolutely beautiful piece and I just love it more and more as it progresses. There's just something about how you have written the characters and how they interact with each other. The father/son bond between Harry and Tom is just beautiful. Then there's the dialogue about Snape and Tom's thoughts about him. Now there's P.C and Snape. I'm absolutely in love with this story. I'm also excited to see your version of necromancy as Harry delves further into the practice.

I loved every chapter. The author's sense of humor was a strong incentive to read through the night. I enjoyed the character development and the history lesson in dark magic. All in all a very entertaining read!
