Guest chapter 12 . 6/27 Lovely Post. Hope to read more soon! |
Kent Rigel chapter 12 . 9/30/2022 Noooo, you can't leave it there! I mean, the Borg are off to meet the universe... Sure, they'll no doubt run into the occasional Goa'uld and but heads with them, which could be all kinds of fun... however I'm more interested what happens when one of the Goa'uld underlings turns out to be a Tok'ra. What will the reaction of the Tok'ra be to the Borg and the concept of assimilation, a hive mind? A split between those curious and favourable and those resistant to the idea? An immediate assumption that the Borg are another enemy but worse, one that can't be infiltrated? Some rampant hypocrisy where they don't see any parallels to how they share bodies with hosts who sacrifice some of their autonomy for the pursuit of Tok'ra goals? What will the Asgard think? A species that already has brain-machine conscience transfer, cloning tech that could allow all sorts of options to drones who may have wanted to leave but couldn't because of limitations to Borg technology, not exactly geared to helping drones exit the collective. Will they perceive the Borg as perhaps another form of Replicators, consuming, multiplying, spreading? What would happen if the Replicators and the Borg cross paths? Will the Ancients stand by as the Borg zoom around potentially assimilating their abandoned relics? What will half-ascended Anubis do? Try to wrest control of the collective from Xander? As to the ethical dilemma over fanatic Jaffa who are unable or unwilling to renounce the Goa'uld even after their temporary assimilation gives them access to the Goa'uld's own thoughts and racial memories proving their godhood is a fraud... the Collective will soon possess the option of simply instituting a space penal colony. Find a habitable planet, probably one with a Stargate, relocate the Stargate to an orbital installation like a moon or an asteroid and then just gate prisoners there and beam them to the surface. Resupply them with tools, medicine and other replicated goods as needed and let them settle the world... maybe their descendants will reconsider things. I kind of did want to see Harmony again, from the prequel to this. Maybe Willow might eventually become aware, through the parents of the now returning unBorg'd children, of support groups or people who were part of the Collective that night and that some of them actually want to go back to it... a lot of people would go a long way to surrendering their self-doubt, crippling anxiety, self-esteem issues, fears of failure and so on. What's the Initiative up to now? Angelus rearing his ugly head and having any access, however limited, to the tech left with the Scoobies. What about Ms. Jenny Calendar, surely a techno-pagan witch will have significant Geek-cred and recognise some things now. You hinted that Xander's collective absorbed people aware of the Mayor's scheme, has a decision been made on intervening there or warning the Scoobies? Which also brings up the question... were any demons able to be assimilated that night? As per the show, they avoid Halloween night but the Borg were in the warehouse district of the docks building their cube, they didn't find and assimilate any? In Star Trek of course the entire purpose of assimilation is to add other species to the Collective. Anyway, I hope to see more of this one day. I certainly greatly enjoyed what you wrote so far. |
Mugen-Muse chapter 12 . 1/1/2022 I suppose that is a concern to worry about. Though they could try to advise the Borg that how the Earth gets saved from itself can be just as important as the act. |
SSSra chapter 12 . 12/29/2021 awesome chapter |
scyfly chapter 11 . 12/29/2021 sigh... the goauld have genetic memory, they may not have captured scientists but that is more of a mindset with the most up to date knowledge. but every single one of them has base knowledge sufficient to map out what this galaxy has to offer. i read this story for its potential but many details are either sloppy or just plain ignored on top of that it is both tedious long yet so very short evennif there will be a next 'book' |
scyfly chapter 9 . 12/29/2021 if you wanted to sepparate the borg here from star trek then you shouldve given them human voices to begin with. not like that is not possible. seriously this is going about things in a totally wrong way. they shouldve infiltrated earth and conquered/unified through technology then the borg wouldve ended up as the trusted AI friend of humanity not an different entity to be mistrusted. ofc the basic premise of slayer world is sgc is wrong as higher beings are not allowed to intervere |
scyfly chapter 7 . 12/29/2021 gotta love to hate that judgemental and hypocrytical attitude of oneil |
scyfly chapter 8 . 12/29/2021 right another USA wank fic, because giving one nation superior tech(weapons) will end well. its conveniently ignored but in the sgc show the spaceships belonged to different nations that worked together because of an common enemy. when that is gone the best case senario they start colonizing indivually and sooner or later go to war over who owns earth or over resources, more likely they go to war first while the forces are still small. the one who keeps even one ship will have won the future. anyways just giving stuff to sgc is beyond stupid of xander, from the borg perspective i might get it, not like they care for earth |
scyfly chapter 7 . 12/29/2021 why would he possibly let sg1 hack their stuff(yeah right) to communicate with earth? they are borg but not borg, yes let sgc think they are and become afraid before trying to explain. how can the borg possibly be here. daniel may have traveled to another reality but no way in hell another far more advanced race can do the same |
scyfly chapter 6 . 12/29/2021 its funny that jack says more powerful telescopes are build every day compared to hubble considering we only just send one out, roughly 25 years after the time of this show |
scyfly chapter 5 . 12/29/2021 half the speed of light is insanely fast for sublight, though i cannot substantiate it i highly doubt an alkesh can move even remotely that fast, especially considering they are holding back |
scyfly chapter 6 . 12/29/2021 isnt bratac aphopis' first prime? an jaffa is an altered human who needs a symbiote to survive thus turning assimilated jaffa back into unaltered jaffa is rather stupid. best begin by turning all jaffa to human and safe us the jaffa vs human crap |
scyfly chapter 4 . 12/29/2021 they could ofc have just use their beaming tech on aphopis. damn but you are nerfing your mc through stupid thinking |
scyfly chapter 5 . 12/29/2021 the shields around a goauld are not always active, they need to press something on their gauntlets first. ofc of it was bratac would still have known about it |
scyfly chapter 3 . 12/29/2021 so aphopis was detected six weeks ago but clorel goes undetected till they assimilate bratac? how does that make any sense |
