I hope Kevin learns a little from Bonesaw’s or Mannequin’s tinkertech before he escapes the Slaughterhouse Nine.

QUESTION:
Would using ‘Observe’ on their equipment be enough?

Or will Kevin need to “learn through repeated actions” to gain skill in tinkertech? The only "repeated action" I can think of is fighting Mannequin (or Bonesaw's spider-robots).

He seems to have missed the 'Solid as a Rock' unlocks other perks. AND the 'attacks that bypass HP'. Which he seems to have mistaken as 'gets extra hp', for some reason. I mean, he might be right about not taking that perk, it's just his reasoning is a bit flawed. I suppose it's also possible that 'resistance higher than 100% equals healing from attacks', but I'd guess that's either under another skill (unlikely to be one that can be obtained just by getting hit, more likely to be a quest reward or other more difficult requirement), or a perk.

Also wow, level 25 resistance is 95.6% resistance? That's a crazy curve there. Would have expected it to be higher to get it that high, especially considering that level 100 is where 100% is at. Given that it's not listed at 'Max', there's either a higher level that helps mitigate damage resistance piercing, or it's a trait specific feature. To specific traits, or just traits in general.

Poor kid is kind of screwed, though. At least he might be able to whittle down some of the nine. Kind of surprised he didn't get a Quest to off Crawler after finishing his test, but I suppose that'll come after he starts improving his damage dealing.

I'm hoping that this is going to end up a mix of Kevin killing Jack and him becoming one of S9 instead of just getting stronger within the group and then becoming the good guy. I think I haven't seen one Worm fic when the main character truly embraces the S9 ideals instead of biding their time.
