I know that game of Dodge very well, a certain green Ki enhanced alien trained his arch nemesis's son who happened to be another alien (abridged version), that learning how to dodge an attack was critically important in a fight.
I believe that Weiss is having an easier time getting anonymity because unless you an Atleasan, the rest of the world doesn't like to deal with Atleasans because of the consistency of their arrogance.
Another potential reason to add to the imbalance of the genders would probably be the role of past wars between kingdoms. like the Great War for instance, if the gender imbalance hadn't started then, then that is where it would really start. Men dying in droves in a world war, causing women to Have to step into the roles of men. It would definitely be a wet dream come true for many teenagers.

Atleasan nobles have risen to a level that is above arrogance. It's like if they all decided to look at Vegeta and said, 'That, but worse, with pretty much no redeeming qualities. I am glad to see that Ironwood is cut from a very different cloth.
This is funny, Jaune is experiencing his first culture shock in Vale, fortunately, when Ruby and Yang meet Weiss, they will have a little more experience in dealing with a 'trained' noble.
I definitely agree with Jaune's distinction between a Hunter and a Fighter.
Holy crap, Tai really put Jaune through hell during those two weeks. It really puts into perspective on how much training and preparation is overlooked by most RWBY stories for ones that use the baseline of unprepared Jaune in Beacon.

You definitely have the higher education attitude part of Jaune down. As for writing a character who is smarter than you, I found there are a couple options; dumb everyone else down (won't work here since based on how competent, storyline, and well designed THIS world is), do a sh!t ton of research if you want to go into detail, or granting him the ability to figure out meta knowledge. Another option would be read lot of detective (actual detective) books/novels to try and expand your own thinking and knowledge.
Did you give Qrow the ability to channel his Misfortune semblance?! Oh man, that would put him on another level from 99% of the stories that I have read with him. I also think that he would share what his semblance does with family, they would never blame him for having a semblance like that, and it would be far healthier for their relationship as well.
It really seems like Jaune is micromanaging his aura, is that a thing for this universe and he is really or has he just forced a counter-productive habit onto himself? He only uses his aura to power his amor, and that strengthens his muscles, is the armor better than aura? He has to use aura to block a blow either way.

Ive been reeeading this and im a little upset that im alsmot alm the way theough whats been released so far. This is easily one of the best RWBY fanfics out there. Even the Harem stuff, which I tyoically dont like, is well written. The world building, and characterization in this story is so incredibly strong that the harem aspect actually works for me to some extent.

Absolutely fantastic, I consider this story to be better than any of Coeur's works, and I like pretty much all of those. Cant wait for the next chapter
