Remnant is a world that has magic of the gods flowing though it so sci-fi materials existing isn't too much of a leap. Maybe Gallium in Remnant behaves like the metal that the T-1000 in Terminator 2 is made of. Not difficult to handwave.
I do enjoy that the villains are more competent as well, that way there is a challenge. Hoping to see what your version of Salem's motives are.

I was really expecting Jaune to come to the rescue midway through the chapter. Very happy that wasn't the case and having the rest of the team kick butt and do new and interesting things with their abilities is great as well.
