A most excellent story. Thank you for riding it. Hope to see an update in the future, but I'm tentative about that given it has been over one year. I would say that this is probably in my top 10 stories. The portrayal of Ron, is probably the best that I have ever seen in any story ever. Typically he is a character that I do not like. You wrote him in a realistic and positive way.

The gradual relationship between Daphne and Harry was most excellent as well. I would say that my only critique concerning it, was at times. I found your writing to be overly vague and I would have to reread more than a few sentences to determine your exact meaning.

Also, kudos to the friendships that you portrayed Daphne as having within her classmates. I'm also most glad how you handled the fallout, rather than it being some stereotypical and unrealistic bash fest or where all but open torture is allowed in the common rooms you handled it in the most excellent way.

I’m definitely not so much of a hater towards Daphne as other reviewers, yes what she did was really fucked up- but let’s be honest if you were 100% convinced that the only way to save a siblings life was to do this, I’m pretty sure most people would freak the fuck out like she did.

I honestly read her as compartmentalising her sisters condition, (in my interpretation) a big part of why she didn’t come clean earlier is because she was due to her own avoidance.

But I do honestly think that they probably shouldn’t get back together. At least not for a long time; Dumbledore was 100% right about that.

I think though one of my favourite parts of this fic is that it isn’t just “oh they need to KISS to make everything better!” And actually shows a more complex and fucked up situation. The fact I honestly don’t know who came out worse from this says a lot; Daphne is up there for top ten most self destructive MC’s I’ve read lol.

The point is that You absolutely COOKED with this story! IMHO my favourite type of MC’s are those who themselves are deeply flawed- I think it makes for the most interesting and compelling stories. If you ever decide to update this story I’d love to see Daphne actually internalise how she hurt harry and see them both move on in a healthy way.

Not sure if that future should really involve them getting back together… but I’m sure whatever you chose to do would be straight up fire ️.

Pretty disappointing last chapter but overall probably my 2nd favourite story from you after simple act of vengeance. I only like that one more because of some pretty cathartic scenes, Like when he lets loose on Malfoy Manor.

This story is pretty objectively better though, it's just pretty frustrating that they end up together. Think it'd be better, although probably a lot more unsatisfying for a lot of people that ship these two, if they didn't work out. It'd end up being a real sacrifice for her sister.

If you don't want to suffer the accomodations leave the goddamn house. These posh assholes are insufferable, they just fucking showed up and whine constantly. How do you make me sympathetic to the Dursleys? And now this forced proximity shit, man.

The whole final scene pisses me off with her physically touching him and shit. What he says there should honestly stop any chance of these two having a HEA, like there's nothing special about her so every single fucking person in his life that cares about him should be encouraging him to move the fuck on. Instead his friends are setting shit up between the two of them when he doesn't want that, why? Respect his fucking wishes.

Only character I fuck with other than Harry (and maybe not even him because apparently this dude is getting back with Daphne) atm is Fleur, sometimes violence is the answer.

Pretty neat to see his mother's protection actually do something past Quirrell, props for that.

Taking her family to the Dursley's though is fucked. Leave Harry alone... Jesus Christ.

Oh, Harry killed Snape, FUCK yes.

What the fuck is Snape even going on about, his situation with Lily isn't at all fucking similar and honestly he's so goddamn creepy about all of this.

And why is he acting like Harry's death is certain when he's made an unbreakable vow to prevent it? Surely his own belief in his abilities must offset how useless he thinks Harry is.

Please just kill him soon he's been especially unbearable in this story.

Dumbledores attitude with Daphne seems more harsh than I'd expect given how lenient he is with literal death eaters like Draco. I get you're trying to portray him in a certain way but I seriously doubt he'd be this flippant about a student attempting suicide. Like be real lol, he cares about students that attempt murder multiple times, he's not going express thinly veiled hate like he does here.

Great to see her experiencing some form of consequences. It definitely won't be enough but oh well

So does Elysant actually remember everything that happened to her?.. Honestly her and Snape are so similar.

'HEA is a definite thing' you mean with someone who isn't Daphne right?.. I don't see how a relationship recovers from this. You could never trust them, it's such a gross violation, it went on for a fucking year.

I get the romance angle but I was kind of hoping for a character more... likeable? worthy of Harry, if that's even a thing?

I mean, does he just like her because she expresses concern for him? I get the vibe from this that she hasn't EVER been pleasant, isn't super good looking (using a lot of makeup daily is SUPER obvious but maybe it's different with magic), and has no incredible talents or intelligence? Her whole thing is basically just throwing herself at him. Why is that appealing to Harry..?

I just hope she drastically changes or I'm not going to like the ending of this almost definitely.

Yeah the end of OOTP is where I think a lot of Dumbledore bashing comes from. It honestly feels OOC? I think JKR fucked up his character for that entire book to be honest. I think hp ff is so popular in part because of how ungodly fucking frustrating the authorities are, with the shit Snape and the other death eaters get away with. You read that shit and immediately go 'wow I wish this was handled in 50 other different fucking ways' and find yourself here.

Daphne just straight up went to murder huh? I really did not believe she had that in her, seems like a massive jump?

Look, I hate Snape too, but his characterization here is pretty unfair. No fucking way he encourages a student to love potion another. He hates Harry but he never actively works against him in any seriously measure. He's just a menace.

Really don't think I'm ever going to cheer for Daphne in this one, which I think you're probably going to at least kind of go for. Hoping Harry finds out and she becomes extremely miserable, what an awful girl.
