Reviews for A Harmonious Beginning
Jay chapter 96 . 4/16
I'm done. The start of the chapter was quite frankly pathetic compared to what you have previously written and it isn't even about Cedric. It was at the level of JKr forced and I just can't read more of that. Good luck!
Jay chapter 95 . 4/16
Honestly disappointed in this chapter compared to all of the other triwiz chapters. The ankle is a sorry excuse to have Harry at a disadvantage and be easily captured. Harry barely uses the point me spell. Doesn't bother using the light spell half the time (why he fell to start), doesn't just kill the minotaur to start with, never attempts to use the spellsaber (tm) against the hedge. Neither Harry nor Cedric bother to shot Sparks for Victor even though he knows he was imperiused and leaves him unconscious in a deadly area. If Cedric dies pathetically I will have to seriously consider dropping this.

You've done a decent job keeping major plot points while flexing individuality from JKr, don't fail now.
Jay chapter 94 . 4/16
In the first 10 chapters it is stated that the bracelet allowed them not to be affected by muggle repelling wards. So the below is rediculous:

Our usual one allows us to see and enter magical areas like Diagon Alley," Richard said. "The other one prevents us from falling prey to the muggle-repelling charms around Hogwarts. We wanted to be here for Harry."
Jay chapter 93 . 4/16
Seriously it still makes no rational sense that Cedric is Harry's dueling equal. Experience and education would say otherwise as Cedric only has a standard Hogwarts education plus DA where Harry has all of that plus being personally trained by a dueling master, they only have a 2 year gap in education and quite frankly dueling is not something taught at Hogwarts until the DA and Harry is a bit over a year advanced in charms to Cedric. While Cedric is great in transfiguration he has not been trained in battle transfiguration which Harry has by McGonagall no less. Defense against the dark arts doesn't count as it relies mostly on charms.
Jay chapter 84 . 4/16
You do a wonderful job with Luna and Hedwig. In fact you Luna is my favorite one ever.
Jay chapter 79 . 4/15
At this point are we sure Cedric isn't the one marked as his equal?

Yes Cedric is two years ahead but unlike Harry he hasn't been studying with a dueling master and has had nothing but shitty defense teachers. This was a pathetic showing by Harry especially as he did much more in the Krum fight. At this point most adults should be able to take him one on one if you base it on the duels he just had.
Jay chapter 76 . 4/15
"Yeah I've got to survive a tournament meant for students two years older than me and if

It's 3 years older than him. Cedric is 17. It was for of age students.
Jay chapter 74 . 4/15
Back when the werewolves attacked, Dumbledore couldn't tell that extra people crossed his wards, they were on Hogwarts grounds which is why they had to run away from the castle and into the woods. Yet now he can tell that a carriage, regardless that it's flying, has crossed the wards?
Jay chapter 73 . 4/15
So chapter started of strong and ended in ridiculousness, Daphne afraid of Nott and didn't do something about his threat? Seriously, she only "cowered" to Draco because her father let her believe he was seriously considering selling her or Astoria off. Here Nott has absolutely no leverage to safeguard himself.
Jay chapter 72 . 4/15
Outside the criticism/critiques, you do a wonderful job with the cameos, they are seamless and never distract from the story. Not many authors can do this and not make it rediculous, even the humor/parody authors.
Jay chapter 72 . 4/15
SMH, you gave us a nudity warning for that?
Jay chapter 72 . 4/15
This would kill or at least incapacitate every single one of them:

The trainees huffed and sprinted passed Sirius onto the track. As they did, Sirius subtly keyed the runes at the doorway. With every lap, he increased the gravity so their last lap would be at ten times Earth's gravity.

If you put rediculous things like this in writing, you should provide the reason it isn't rediculous. Something as simple as a description or conversation of how magicals and non-magical humans differ, even back in chapter 1 through 5, would justify this waste of words.

As for waste, I hope we get to see why anyone would care to see what Sirius is doing at the academy.
Jay chapter 70 . 4/15
Why are you switching focus from Harry and Hermione now? The story is 70 chapters in, does Sirius play an important indispensable role or is it just because?

Curiosity, purely, since most stories lose focus and wander when this is done so late in the game.
Jay chapter 68 . 4/15
You are forgetting your own story. Hermione had a werewolf charge her. She knows what to do and has done it before.

Hermione's never had someone charge at her so she panicked as she has a tendency to do in unfamiliar situations.)
Jay chapter 68 . 4/15
Soooo did he take down the Goblins wards? And what use are wards that don't let you know they are being attacked or destroyed? Last time he was at their house with Greyback the wards scared him off.

Across Britain, Lucius Malfoy stood in front of the Grangers' house. He had sealed all the doors, and windows, cutting off any escape. He picked up the bottle of liquor with a rag shoved down it. He hated using a muggle method to do this but it was worth it in this case. He lit the rag with a muggle lighter and threw the bottle threw the window, repeating the procedure with the other window in front.
