Reviews for A Harmonious Beginning
Jay chapter 68 . 4/15
Soooo did he take down the Goblins wards? And what use are wards that don't let you know they are being attacked or destroyed? Last time he was at their house with Greyback the wards scared him off.

Across Britain, Lucius Malfoy stood in front of the Grangers' house. He had sealed all the doors, and windows, cutting off any escape. He picked up the bottle of liquor with a rag shoved down it. He hated using a muggle method to do this but it was worth it in this case. He lit the rag with a muggle lighter and threw the bottle threw the window, repeating the procedure with the other window in front.

Once again this was not thought out fully: "They cannot speak," Gripclaw said. "In the old manor, they could in the past but we could only restore the canvas, not the magic imbibed into it, I am afraid."

James and Lily supposedly had the manor rebuild planned out and initially started. That means they died with portraits that had nothing to do with the manor. Their portraits would not need to be restored.
Jay chapter 57 . 4/14
That was well thought out: (A/N: It doesn't say in canon whether a Dementor can be killed but I figured if a Dementor cannot retreat from a Patronus, they could die from exposure to it. In revisiting Harry Potter, I keep seeing Dementors as something akin to the Nazgul from Lord of the Rings. So the screech is just that. Don't know why but that connection is there and I can't see Dementors as anything else.

I don't think you really thought this out. Lets assume (and you know what that does) that the wand grips somehow does not affect the wand even though it is not part of its original construction and seems to be a generic fits all item.

For Harry, as with anyone who changes the angle and grip of something they have to aim it would take more than an instance to use properly. It would be like training for years on one way to grip you steaknife (not everyone has shot a gun or hel a sword or fighting knife or throwing knife), then you change that grip completely, it takes at least a moment (being kind) to properly use it to the same standard that you are used to.

This is especially so for Harry as his hand and wand tip are no longer in sync and that new pattern needs to be ingrained into mind and muscle memory.
Jay's chapter 55 . 4/14
First, this is the best chapter you've written and really got the feelings across, well done!

Two, not many Patronus are shown and they are only adults and the main kids of Harry, Hermione, Weasleys and Luna. Neville and Remus actually have non-coporial patroni as described in books, that right Lupin does not have a wolf.
Jay chapter 54 . 4/13
So much AU you could have done a better job than a stag for Harry. Even JKrs measly explanations for them doesn't actually account for it. Her original excuse for it was that he thought it was his dad protecting him.
Jay chapter 50 . 4/13
Hogsmead weekend is Saturday and Sunday. So there was absolutely no reason for the date to be ruined as the detention was only one day. This is especially true since you didn't state that it revokes the whole weekend. And Hermione didn't need lavender to speak up a simple no was more than sufficient and needed absolutely no expectation. If one was demanded she could say he isn't someone she would ever want to go out with. Simple.
Jay chapter 40 . 4/13
Per chapter 19: Hermione taught him how to swim and soon he was swimming laps in their moderately-sized pool.
Jay chapter 40 . 4/13
Ok seriously do you not look over notes or review your story before writing a new chapter? There are soo many continuity issues it can be a bit rediculous. For instance, here you have an impossible scene since Hermione taught Harry how to swim in her pool as part of his recovery just 12 months prior.
pincho chapter 16 . 4/11
Yup this confirmed it, I'm done. "Helen, grab the first aid kit," he commanded. Helen sprinted to the kitchen for the nearest kit. "We leave in five."

Only a fucking moron would try to drive with a first aid kit when you are pretty sure a child is being beaten and you know what that means due to past history, instead of dialing 999 (911 in the states).
pincho chapter 16 . 4/11
Ok I'm done, this line is worse than saying that Dumbledore is just misguided but good vs evil:

"There's nothing we can do," Richard said. "He only needs to stay there 13 more days and then we can go get him. I am sure he can last that long."

He is a doctor and supposedly not an idiot, it's called calling the cops. The bobbins would go investigate, the U.K had child protection laws by 89.
pincho chapter 15 . 4/11
Unless Dobby stopped Hermione and her folks or there was a death, there better be a reason for Harry not having been picked up at exactly 2 weeks. Otherwise I will have to bow out as it is the sign of worst writing to come JKr level. If you have to force it, it doesn't work and another way should be found. If you are going to ignore something blatant then it shouldn't be written about as it serves no purpose.
pincho chapter 15 . 4/11
he opened the wardrobe to talk to Dobby again.
"You see, Dobby?" Harry hobbled to the wardrobe, opening it. "I

How can he be at the wardrobe to open it, then walk to it, he is already there?
pincho chapter 15 . 4/11
"Yes, sir. We elves have been bonded to wizards for centuries." Dobby explained slowly, nervous of the anger coming off Harry. "Through the bond we can share magic with our masters."

Being that Dobby states that Elvea are slaves Harry will help Hermione in trying to free them and espouse the Spew. If not it is a failure in the story. There are several inconsistencies so far but overall minor.I hope it stays that was.
pincho chapter 15 . 4/11
Im sorry but no none evil, none bitch of a whimp parent who knows what Harry is going through/has would put up with that shit let alone made no effort to have those people arrested before the kid got back.
