Came across this TikTok Video that helped me understand Batman in writing, if only a little… and I think it might be 'useful' to you (assuming you haven’t seen it already) for your writing, DaneNagai.

By the (foreseeable) end of this crossover, I may not be able to see Batman and the Doom Slayer ever as friends for 'understandable reasons'… but I’d like to think they would have a 'begrudging respect' for one another when it comes to protecting/saving the innocent from EVIL.

1) Questioner: Should Batman start killing or should he keep his No-Kill Rule?

2) Answerer: I think the question is harder than that… He CAN’T. A lot of people ask "Why Doesn’t Batman Kill?" and the canon answer that you’re gonna get from Bruce is that, "If I Cross That Line, Where Do I Stop?" or "If I Cross That Line, The Number Of Killers Remains The Same." That’s what Bruce says and that’s what he convinces himself of but I think the answer is actually a lot more complicated than that…

• If you take someone who has Encountered DEATH at a very early age, because Trauma Forms And Sticks In Your Mind Very Easily The Younger You Are.

• So, when Bruce encounters death at Eight Years Old, he has this Trauma that’s deeply Imprinted in his Brain, and Trauma leads us to do Different Things.

• It leads an alcoholic to drink. It leads a narcissist to obsess about themselves. In Bruce’s case, he has a Pathological Obsession, a Compulsion to Preserve Life At All Costs.

• Bruce couldn’t kill anyone if he tried because if you put a gun in his hand (the same way that if you put a bottle in an alcoholic’s hand, they’re gonna drink) he physically can’t pull the trigger because he has a Mental Block against Taking Life. He is compelled to preserve life at all costs. That’s what his trauma did to him.

• So, I don’t even think it’s a question of if Batman should Kill. I think it’s that he Physically and Psychologically CANNOT.

It seems like Doomguy got a job.

Chapter 7: "Common Ground"
• Doomguy roof-hopping so fast that he’s a blur like a 'Stealthy Colossus'? Did he once learn from "First/King Hassan"/"The Old Man of the Mountain" and the Hashashin ("Fate/Grand Order") or some shit? That’s OVERKILL, Bro~! At least Doomguy’s crime-fighting isn’t… although it’s no 'slap-on-the-wrist' either~!
• Doomguy’s hidden gun collection would bring a smile to any gunsmith… but it also reminds me of Dante and Nell Goldstein from the "Devil May Cry" series; Dante would always break whatever firearm he would 'acquire' from thugs by pulling the trigger faster than humanly possible (before he wielded his signature 'Ebony & Ivory'), and Nell would call him an idiot but fix him new ones anyway — Rinse, Repeat.
• His video game collection, on the other hand… odds are that Doomguy may end up at the top of the leaderboards like he was "TheLegend27"? After all, gaming (when 'playing' responsibly) is a great way to distract oneself from inactivity~! Especially when you consider all the crap he had to go through…
• While I can understand that Clark/Superman and the more 'idealistic' Justice League members mean well, based on the former’s insight of Doomguy working… rehabilitation and reintegration for an 'extreme' case such as Doomguy’s (compared to real life examples under the 'Can’t Stay Normal' Trope) doesn’t seem to be in the cards — you would need an Honest-To-God MIRACLE to achieve such an 'impossibility'. And if there are still any lingering 'doubts' against the Demons of Hell that the Doom Slayer has been fighting for eons… well, a quick trip to NEKRAVOL (and what they do to souls there) would remove them entirely.
• Heh… only 'people' like Flynn/Doomguy can pull off making an 'obscene' gesture referring to Power Girl’s 'Most Common Superpower' with a straight face and fluster Superman. No worries, Clark, I understand your pain… but come on, we’re all adults (don’t go kicking ass UNTIL you have a damn good reason to AND they throw the first hit) and Flynn is… well, he’s just teasing you but he’s a good guy under the right circumstances — honest! (You ought to be more worried about the Power Girl Internet Porn, should it ever exist/you ever find it in your reality…)
• Flynn Taggart wearing Converse shoes? Brand’s too narrow for my own feet but thankfully, Vans are a great substitute… although I expected Flynn to wear Timberland boots instead and resemble Rider Iskandar from "Fate/Zero" in casual wear… and pulling off the "Good Will Hunting" act to get hired by S.T.A.R. Labs? What next, Scruffy Scruffington the Janitor from "Futurama"?
• Going to Karen Starr’s/Kara Zor-L’s restaurant scene… seriously, reading TV Tropes about what she’s gone through is Fucked Up! Compared to Superman and Supergirl, Power Girl lost not just her planet, but her universe, TWICE, and due to her strangely paradoxical nature as a multiversal survivor, is more or less the one constant in every multiversal/temporal upheaval (And She Is Entirely Aware Of It). And that's not even getting into what happened to her Kal-L and Earth-2 Lois Lane — it’s a credit that she can function at all! What the Fuck did she even do to deserve ANY of this, comic book writers!? Even if the responsible parties are different, the sheer scale of devastation is on par with Doomguy’s!
• At least I can entertain myself that TV Tropes labels "Pre-Crisis Earth-Two" Karen Starr as what Lex Luthor claims to be (his 'Good Counterpart') — saving the world through technological development isn’t easy, but at least she’s trying.
• The Cadmus Labs scene needs no elaboration, other than the Folly of Men (unknowingly) drawing the Ire of a God (or rather, the Wrath of a Dark Lord). Vandal Savage’s scene, on the other hand… if I’m not mistaken, Vandal Savage is one of The Most EVIL Characters in the DC Universe, short of the likes of The God of Evil DARKSEID. Yet, in "Young Justice" (2010), he’s more of a 'Knight Templar' visionary as opposed to the horrifically brutal and amoral psychopath of the comics. Alternatively, there’s that one episode in the "Justice League" animated series (in "Hereafter", Savage had 'a change of heart' after accidentally causing the apocalypse in a 'Bad Future', as a time-displaced Superman finds out; I strongly recommend watching it unless you don’t mind me spoiling it in my next review)…
• I’m curious to know if the upcoming "Doom: The Dark Ages" may provide a new 'avenue' for you to 'link' the Doom Slayer’s and Vandal Savage’s 'past' together. Otherwise, Savage’s ultimate goal of ensuring the galactic dominance of the human race and place "at the centre of the cosmos"… eerily reminds me (from what I can read while not having the game) of the Shit that Marisbury Animusphere tried to pull in "Fate/Grand Order" which would 'supposedly' ensure the safety of the "Human Order" but pose a threat to the universe as a whole — these two morons have 'noble' ideals but TERRIBLE methods (superiority above all others doesn’t sound awesome when it gives everyone else an excuse to kick your ass for it).

DaneNagai: "Okay, that is the end of the latest chapter. And man, this was a difficult thing to write. Not only am I stumped at writing modern day terminology (like places and distances, especially the New York setting), but I'm also trying to figure how Doomguy will be able to blend. Let me clear, this man is canonically 6'6" OUTSIDE of his suit (6'8" in it). He's PRETTY tall and given his 'chip on the shoulder' attitude, I'm really stretching the boundaries of what's acceptable behavior to normal civilians. Then again, New York is full of strange shit over there. Anyway, writing Doomguy to adapt to modern times is... quite a task. Inconsistencies are bound to happen."
[Well, I’ve already mentioned the 'Comically Serious' Trope above for our 'Fish Out Of Water' Demon-Slaying-Space-Marine-Demigod… but have you ever thought about looking into Tom Hanks’ portrayal of "Forrest Gump"? There’s one scene that I can’t help but 'meme' about — Forrest Gump standing in an (all-black) gospel choir, looking as awkward and out-of-place like a pineapple in a tomato patch.]

Truth be told, I would treat this universe of the YJ as an alternate setting that's more in line with other DC universes but still has the makeup of YJ (if I can describe it like that). In regard to Doomguy and the League, characterizations will be a little more different around here. Especially the latter. Once Hell breaks loose, bets are off the League has to throw away the safety mittens and pull out the brass knuckles. Common sense dictates the best course of action even if it means sacrificing their own moral guidelines. If you have read my responses to Nitus, I've pretty much broken those rules.
[THAT’S the Trope that’s been missing from our discussions: 'Alternate Universe Fic'; ALL Fan Fiction is arguably an 'Alternate Continuity', since the audience can assume it intends to follow 'Canon' to a specific point, Then BRANCH OFF. Hell, Michael2234’s "A Brand New World" follow a similar train of thought — 'respect' canon to an extent before introducing your own spin on it, crossover or otherwise. THANK YOU for bringing it up, and I am SO SORRY it took me this Goddamn long to realise it. This Fic’s 'first impression' might have been… not-so-good but knowing that this was how you would have treated this crossover would have 'assuaged' most of (if not all of) my worries. While I still have my doubts… they’re not as 'intense' as they were in the beginning.]

DaneNagai (To 'EndOfDaysBitches'): Yeah, the Endless are a whole lot of complexity that even I can't do justice. Neil Gaiman is fantastic (until you bring up the allegations) and he's very talented in his writings. So much, I can't really bring myself to write them in. I also would recommend the Lucifer series written by Mike Carey. Read them during high school and it's one of my favorite series to date.
[To be honest, the sexual assault accusations came as a SHOCK while I was on a Discord Server, and if I’m not mistaken, one member who was a 'survivor' said they could recognise the 'signs' based on a news article… I still desire to read the likes of "American Gods", "Coraline", "Good Omens", Mike Carey’s "Lucifer" and "The Sandman" because of their acclaim but Gaiman’s 'misconduct' will forever be a black mark that won’t go away, in my eyes — Never Meet Your Heroes, I suppose because I Don’t Know What The Hell’s The World’s Coming To.]

I'd rather she be her own distinct character more than anything. Unfortunately, I already have Doomguy having hooked with Power Girl (sorta) so it does clash with what you said. Still, the romance won't be stuck for long.
[While I admittedly share Malgrath’s sentiments as 'Shipping is Serious Business', I’m rather curious to know how you’re going to kick off this Power Girl 'Pairing' — the old "Birds Of A Feather Flock Together"? And the romance is only temporary? Do I have that right?]

One of the Slayer in his daily patrols of New York sees a couple kids with a lemonade stand, and decides to buy a cup of their lemonade to help their little business…and also because he be thirsty.

*Cue The Slayer sipping a cup of lemonade through a straw while wearing the helmet. All while the little kids look in awe of the 50 dollar bill The Slayer put in their money Jar.*

Or if The Slayer was about to apprehended a car thief only to find out it’s a young man having trouble with his car’s engine.
So the slayer decided to help out, and help fix the car…once he sees of how much the young man loved that car…
As any person would love their car that they have drove for quite a few years.
Like of how Hank Hill loved his truck as it was the only thing that never failed him…

Also doom slayer has two types of immortality one he did himself and one from the divinity maker all before doom 2016(which will be shown in doom dark age) making him a god.

It is confirmed doom slayer is a descendant of blazkowicz we just don’t know his name and who his parents are

Also, if you want to give Doom guy a cape, Kraven could send a gift as an anonymous guy as it would seem that he's like an old sentinel soldier. I'm just taking a guess, but yeah, you could still give it if you wanna. It won't be breaking any canon because the Cape could easily just burn off of him with all of the fire balls and stuff before Eternal.

Even the magnetic shield that acts like his teleporter too. He can make that. As long as it's made up of Earth materials, it won't last long enough to be able to make it up to Eternal cuz, you know, Hell Insane Heat melt over time despite being protected by DS' power.

Speaking of tech... I see Doom guy crafting an armor set for the league because they can easily turn into demons by just a Lazarus wave.

Also, he should still have the soul cube on him (I just found out about it that it is also in 2016). You could use it as a MacGuffin energy fuel since Doom guy has killed more than 5 demons. If my memory serves me right, It has stored vengeful spirits in them so they're kinda perfect as a temporary energy source to power up the Fortress of Doom. Kinda like the Coffman Engine starter (shotgun shell engine starter method)

You have plenty of stuff to work around.

And poor poor Kraven... He doesn't know that Doomguy's power is not with his DNA... That clone's just going to be like Superboy... Well, beefier Super Boy. But hey, the second one was a success with Doomguy's gene being more dominant! A success that stopped existing because Doom guy exists.

Hehe, I also like what you have done with Power Girl. She's straight up an RGB Lamp Light with how many clear signals she's sending him. And your portrayal of Doom guy's ineptitude in love is perfect. It has been far faaar too long since he tried dating, or even pursuing a woman he has a crush on.

I do see Doom guy making VEDA check for a man's personal information if he can afford to go to a hospital or just give them a bruise or... Two... Okay, a lot, by just gripping their muscles hard enough. Or give them a sprained dislocated ankle that people could put back in place.

By the way, have you seen the Eternal's discontinued pistol? I forgot if we have talked about this or not but you could make it usable by making the semi-auto fire be a taser and the charged shot be a lethal electric shot. He does have an electric SMG in Dark Ages after all.

I unfortunately cannot elaborate more as it has been nearly a year since the post and I have not thought about it since. My best guess? Maybe I thought you were going to clone Doom Guy’s son that was turned into the Icon of Sin and control/kill it. Because this doom slayer is based off of the 2016 doom and not eternal. Idk, it’s been awhile. But I like what you’re doing with the story. Keep up the good work!

And props to you adding other game in this story, especially Hexen, since almos no one ever heard of this Doom game fantasy version :D
