Nia and David reunited and I enjoyed them training together
Their gym battles were great and I like Surge’s advice for Volt Tackle

The St Anne tournament was spectacular especially the Battle between David and Gary
Too bad team Rocket had to ruin everything
Plus Shadow Lugia was a surprise

David had an unfortunate run it with a team Rocket elite and got severely injured but he did save the hostages from the grunts

But him and Gary teaming up to teach Avery a lesson, that nice chat and Dinner with Bill, getting a TM, Deku evolving, Thalia the Pikachu listening to him, and winning his second gym badge makes up for that incident

Lot of events in one chapter but all of it was enjoyable, I especially enjoy the world building and the details you added to how trainers support themselves and expanding the gym system
Both Nia and David’s gym battles were excellent, and I especially enjoyed the Ryhorn stampede
David’s Pikachu is certainly a little mischievous but is slowly warming up to her new trainer

David is a great guy and I’m liking his team so far

I have a few suggestions for future Pokémon/names in mind but I’ll hold off until I read all the current chapters

Okay.. I'm looking forward to the rewrite... I really enjoyed this story up until all the BS with Charmander... I dipped after that. Felt a bit too...yeah...

I want Mr. Mime to be dumped on Sabrina or the league. Make him untrainable or something idk. I've never been a fan of Mr. Mime to begin with so maybe I'm being unfair, but Mr. Mime seems to be arrogant, lazy, and way too full of himself without any qualities redeeming enough for me to want to give him a chance.
I liked what you're doing with Avery, yes he's a rich asshole, yes I kind of hate him, but he doesn't want people dead and he's a kid spouting what his father says. He reminds me of Draco Malfoy, and I think you started giving him a wake up call which is great.
I'm really wondering where you're going with the Shadow Pokemon. You make David able to see the 'shadow' so I'm wondering if he'll get the chance to 'purify' them or if you're going to leave it to Prof. Oak.

The ups! the downs! The drama! David getting involved while trying to stay out of it! Ugh you write so good! I haven't been able to put the pic down

Can I just say it's weird to read a fanfiction written in 3rd person with someone who has your name... like idk if other people have had this experience (I'm sure they have) but it's honestly just really off-putting. love the story though!

sure toxic hits but no sleep powder or stun spore follow up, unless you are sticking with the game logic of only 1 status effect at a time? which is dumb anywhere outside of a game

oh god angsty pity parties... SKIP! (the rest of the chapter was nice but I just can't stand this particular trope)
