scotty26 chapter 31 . 4/16/2023
Well all I can say is that this is a massive improvement over previous chapter thought I’m NOT saying the other ones were bad, far from it, it flow better if that makes sense. Keep it up. One of the few stories that I have on alert that I read right away as soon as you post.

There might not be a lot of action in this chapter but a lot of things have happened. The Greengrasses are now aware of the danger and Sirius is going to them. I'm really looking forward to their encounter. It's interesting that Sirius is not at Grimmauld Place yet.

I love Cyrus's reaction to what he's seeing. And now Sirius and Remus are going to him for help? This ought to be interesting...
Azentra chapter 31 . 4/16/2023
Making Harry's situation with the Dementors happen off screen, saving you the trouble of just regurgitating canon, is an absolutely brilliant move if you ask me. We all know roughly what happens there unless you suddenly were to change it up massively, but seeing it happen from the outside in Cyrus and possibly Daphne, and in Sirius and Remus? Brilliant.

I also love how you're basically going to force Cyrus to make a decision now with Sirius and Lupin just ending up on his doorstep (thereby proving that they could have easily had the house invaded and burned to the ground if they wanted) and make him decide whether they go to Azkaban or if he helps Harry.

And then the documents on the trials. A beautiful way to show that there clearly was someone working higher up to help the people that were 'found innocent' and that something didn't go as it should with Sirius. Great stuff, absolutely.

All in all, another wonderful chapter. I absolutely love this stuff from a few different perspectives that we don't get to see too often. The stuff that is going on in the background.

Keep it up as always, and I'll be here next time (:

Azentra

Hope a pensive is used at Harry’s trial. And that he can show what happened in the graveyard as well

Brilliant as ever. Hope with Harry’s trial Cyrus can bring up the 30 reports and Sirius lack of trial and all of them have a retrial or in Sirius case a trial. And that harry and minister know that harry is lord Potter and heir black

Very good fic, but I’d write the letters differently, since unless you have both side by side, it is difficult to work out what it is about. Remember, if Harry sends a letter to Daphne, she won’t remember what she sent word for word so might not understand completely what it is about.
Freudentraene chapter 30 . 4/13/2023
I am curious to see where this goes from here. I always felt it was a little too easy for the Ministry to discredit Dumbledore and Harry. You've decided against it so far, but I'd like to see Daphne at least give Harry a brief warning of what's going on, something along the lines of "Hey, Potter, they're coming after you now, be careful". But let's see what happens next. So many things can happen, and that's what makes it so exciting. See you in the next chapter!
goldfish demon chapter 30 . 4/12/2023
After reading this whole thing in one sitting (slow day at work) my biggest takeaway is that you REALLY meant it when you said this was going to be a slow development on the relationship between Harry and Daphne. 30 Chapters, 170,000 ish words, and all we've gotten is that they enjoyed each other's company at the Yule Ball. Slow is an understatement. Not that I'm complaining, I had a great time reading it and I'm excited for more.

The mystery of floor 777 is also still waiting, and I'm excited to learn where that's going.

Have a good day.
Azentra chapter 30 . 4/12/2023
Well then, someone is starting to think about all the implications from the last chapter, and someone is starting to pry in stuff that is absolutely none of her business (though I'm absolutely not complaining, go Tori! Keep it up!)
I think the entire scene/situation with Lord Greengrass alone in his study was very important and very needed, and could definitely be the first step towards fixing a looooooot of issues, including the Sirius case that he seems to be realizing might not be as much of a clear case as people think.

Tori is getting a good little sister by being a pain in the ass while also getting Daphne to (subconsciously) think about her own emotions and feelings towards Harry, which is great fun to see, and Tori is just great fun to see pop up every now and then in general.

While I can believe that the people at large don't know the details and of course don't want to believe Voldemort is back, you've explicitly stated in this chapter that Lord Greengrass is the Head of the Unspeakables. As a result, he has access to so much more knowledge and information than the public at large. He literally is in charge of the hall of prophesies that contains the prophesy about Voldemort. So I think it's a bit of a stretch that he would be so against the idea, but I can understand your reasoning for most of it.

So yeah, solid chapter with some very important bits happening, and as always I'll be waiting for the next one :)

I hate when fics force harry to go to the ball. all he has to do is say no. it isnt part of the tournament.
CaskettFan5 chapter 30 . 4/11/2023
My point would be: nobody WANTS to believe Harry's claims. People are quick to believe what they want to believe, that's why things like QAnon catch on. If someone claims something that fits their beliefs, they will quickly latch on to it.

I'm glad to see Daphne's father realizing the danger he may have been missing. In something this important, you can't just go with the crowd because they're so many of them. A little fact checking can save you a lot of grief later. Happy hunting Cyrus!
