Good chapter! I do hope Hermione makes up for her treatment of Harry and begs for forgiveness. I never liked Hermione bashing all that much and didn’t really feel it has been justified in most fan faction stories. Other then a minor disagreement with Harry in third and sixth year she never abandoned him like Ron did twice and supported him throughout his trials and ordeals. She was a true friend to the end.
I am honestly surprised Harry and Hermione didn’t end up together in canon. There is no way Hermione would have married Ron. They have nothing in common and constantly argued with each other not to mention Ron is inherently lazy and stubborn like a mule. Hope you like my thoughts and insights.

Can't quite recall what size the golden eggs were described as in the book, but I do recall that the size in the movie was quite large. If it's a discrepancy between the movie and book then ignore this, but if not then I'm not sure how Harry would lift and control the lift of a large egg with one hand.

I have read many a Harry Potter story and most are based around the GoF however I can not think of a single one which used the actual method of how Harry beat the dragon, until now. It was great and I loved it, can't wait for more!

It's nice to have another chapter at last. I like how the "ice" is slowly melting.

As for reading other stories for help on your own, do that with some caution. Every author should bring something of their own to each character and their interactions. For instance, it is easy to write Daphne as much more knowledgeable about magic and magical culture and almost make her a Mary Sue. I like that your version of Daphne can be left in the dark by adults just like Harry (about knowing how her family owes Lupin). I also like how patient you have her with Harry.

If you want a good Haphne fic, read 'Daphne Greengrass and the Importance of Intent' by Petrificus Somewhatus. It's the best one I've read.

Try "If not for Umbridge," it's got one of the most believable Daphnes on FFN so far. Very much liking this one too, though.
If you ever end up on AO3, "A Persistent Snake" and "Fire and Ice" are good as well.

Kinda hope this doesn't turn into a Revenge Fic. As much as Ron needs to grow up and Hermione needs to get over herself, it very much kills the story if the author decides to make one or both of them into outright antagonists for the hell of it - they've survived worse falling-outs in canon, after all.

Great Job, I like where this is going. I skip past the parts lifted straight from the movie/book though as I already know them.

Advice: I would focus your writing more on the areas of your story and just glance over the portions that occur in the source material. You don’t need them verbatim in your story.

Some of the best stories I've found are Deaths champion and the house of Potter and Green grass. I don't know why but am totally engrossed in Haphne first. There is also paid in blood but it's kinda dark. If I think of any others I'll be sure to mention them in a pm
