Reviews for Ned's Southern Folly
iacopo.passerini chapter 98 . 4/23
Comunque ottimo lavoro!

Well, I apologize for the delay but I had family problems!
anyway here we see the end of the war with "High Garden" (I use Italian terms translated into English because I'm no longer comfortable).
Anyway, getting back to us, finally "The plateau" surrenders to the force of "Winterfell" with the last troops that give up the field and weapons to the forces of the North.
Anyway, looking closely, apart from the exile of the queen (to whom I would have given first a long stay in a dark cell and then a one-way trip to Mastro Tita, those who are from Rome know what I'm talking about), taking the Black of one of the last officers of the army, money is a lot but also in a rather long period so skilled merchants could put together the required amount in a short time and territorial concessions that were not too exaggerated (the North could very well take all the territories and fortresses it wanted and no one could do anything about it by sharing the spoils with whoever they wanted) it went well for them.
For the so-called "Militant Creed" or whatever the hell it's called, well it was logical that it would have been disbanded, but I think that given the troubles they've caused and their organizational structure, it was clear that it would have ended badly.
However, the fact that the king of the north is worried about the fact that magic is active and fears that the Others could return and thus the undead who command it makes me think.
Anyway, great work!

Rereading this work since yesterday. Damn it's so good.
Supremus85 chapter 98 . 4/12
You are underestimating White Harborers. And the Royce are not the ruling house of the Vale, the majority of the ale lords will oppse it.
Foxy-Floof chapter 98 . 4/11
Nice. Finally an end to the zealots and an end to that delusional madwoman.
rebfan90 chapter 98 . 4/11

MartyJWykes chapter 98 . 4/11
Great update, I think the idea of Robb sponsoring learning is a smart. The maesters are influenced by the reach without a doubt. Can't help but feel they straight up robbed houses of information and history

For the Reach on the peace treaty that will be hard to take but does present the South with a different target instead of the Riverlands.

Can't wait for the next one and to see the reunions of the Stark families. Can't help but feel Robb won't be leaving Winterfell again
Yogurt9928 chapter 98 . 4/11
What a chapter. Dickons thought process was interesting. He seems a very humble or maybe humbled man who sought to save the reach from total collapse. His fear of ghost and paying attention to all of the stark blood was interesting.

The reach is really looking to be horrible for a good while huh. I wonder how the stormlands, West, iron islands and dorne will act once the north leaves and a couple of years pass by. Especially since the king is a child. Tyrell authority is gonna be at an all time low. I wonder if there's gonna be rebellions in the reach?

I wonder how house Royce is gonne use this war to their benefit in the vale. The West is gonna be interesting too considering they got their ass kicked, but got some lands as a sweet deal from the north. Will probably help Willem save face.

Alot of angry and violent dudes going back home in the north to angry families. How will rickard and Jon maneuver in this new landscape after war and after having losses of their own? Edrick looking angry I hope the man uses this as fuel to improve his house. Jon was probably a sensational lord of his people and a great start to house whitefyre. Hopefully Edrick keeps it going. I wonder if the breeding program is gonna be back on for house whitefyre once he goes home. Will he look to keep some sort of legacy of his father's? I wonder if maybe he even wonders if him having a dire hound would had helped his father and brother. Arya is gonna be interesting too cause she lost a son. I wonder how house cerwyn will go on after this war. Can't lie I feel like another war is gonna happen in a decade or two. Probably between southern forces.

Man I was wondering what happened to Val in this fic, but that chick most likely dead. Man a Jon/Val pairing from you friend would probably be sensational. As always good shit. Can't wait for the next chapter.
Force Smuggler chapter 98 . 4/11
Fantastic
scifiromance chapter 98 . 4/11
Another amazing chapter. I loved all the detail as always. King Randyll is lucky that he had Dickon willing to make terms, harsh as they were. I wonder if Edrick Whitefyre will accept all this, or if he'll need to be spoken to some more by his uncles.

Maester Benedict is a great character! I'm pleased he's from Cracklaw Point, I have a soft spot for the characters from that area, they feel distinct from the other Riverlanders.

Well done and thanks for writing!

Really enjoyed this
Max20.7 chapter 97 . 4/8
The Manderlys have been gone for a long time yes, but they still seem to have kept many of their old practices. The Florents arent a bad move trough.
Maybe a now independent and changed Reach would revive some Gardener practices, like the order of the green hand? It could also he useful, if the Manderlys are in that order to serve as a cultural bridge and it would give it some legitimacy, as they could argue that technically the order existed all along, just with it only having one member, the head of house Manderly.

Anyways, I like the high septon thing, it makes sense, as they could never just give him up. What confuses me a bit is that Robb accepted getting no books from the citadel, obv getting the people is good, but the ancient knowledge in there could be very much vital to his family, he will need to get it somehow.

The ironborn may not be close to it, but france wasnt close to Alsase Lorraine in the first worl war and they still got it, because they won. The fleet needs supplies, which wont be able to all be produced at the arbour in addition to feeding its own population. Also the Arbour is an important island, yes, but its not like it would make the big difference for the ironborn, they can pollage and maybe storm a coastal keep, but thats pretty much all they can do, owning the Arbour would bind resources to control it and would thereby actually lessen the risk of ironborn raids while encouraging them to engage in managing estates and trading.

A good chapter over all and I hope the next one comes soon.
CadetMarshal chapter 97 . 3/31
I'd imagine more Maestors and Acolyetes will trickle into the Northern/Riversland kingdom in the coming years. Probably enough to start a few schools or a centralized university system?

Thanks for the chapter!
