Having, at one point, been in Ginny's shoes, sort of, I hope she knocks Harry's socks so far off that he can't find them for months! I once went to a party where someone I had a mad crush on asked me to save him a dance. My hair, dress, and makeup were perfect and for a change, I FELT beautiful instead of like the plain girl who blended into the walls. My crush never claimed the dance I'd saved for him-he forgot he'd even asked! I was crushed and spent the night in the corner crying. I'm sure he never noticed! I don't think anyone did! I'm glad you've given Ginny such good, caring friends to lean on. Friends who'll loan her clothes and help with her hair and makeup and make her look like a Princess. May she (metaphorically, not literally!) knock Harry so far across the room on his butt that he realizes he's acting like one! I hope that watching all of Ginny's "borrowed" dates dance with her makes him vividly green with envy and jealousy! He deserves it! By the way, where is her Familiar while she's at the party? Also, is she going to get to dance with the guest of honor? I think it would be good for both of them! BTW, my 'crush' years later inadvertently introduced me to my husband who ALWAYS makes me feel beautiful, even at my grungiest, fattest, etc! The morning of our wedding, out BestMan, my old crush, told me he was sorry he'd ignored my crush all those years before and never asked me out. I told him it was his loss!

She sounds so pretty! Harry's gonna have a heart attack when he sees her! I hope they make up soon, cause I really want to see them get together! Great story! I'm really loving it, I await anxiously for your next update!

I absolutely LOVE your story "That muted sort of longing"! It's definately got me hooked and I can't wait to read the rest! I love the angst mixed with the bit of romance. I can see Harry acting just how you have described. Keep up the good work and I look forward to the rest!

Thank you, Serendipity. You have truly captured the spirit of Rowling's world with your story. Your character portrayals are excellent. Your pacing and timing are upbeat and engaging. And if the painful-yet-sweet twinges my heart is making can be used as evidence, you truly have made the romantic tension VERY real. Our two main characters really don't have a clue, do they? I love Harry and Ginny stories, but I often find that many writers of this pair have a hard time handling Ginny's persona. The stories I've seen have usually alter Ginny so completely from who she was before you never really believe they are the same person. What I like about your work is the evidence of careful thought about Ginny's persona. Rowling doesn't give us a lot to work with, but you have managed to take what we have learned of Ginny so far and mold it into a unique and engaging character. And Harry! Kudos to you for making our beloved Boy Who Lived into a REAL boy and not a superman. Now I'll just have to deal with my heart ache and eagerly anticipate another chapter.

I just started reading this story yesterday and hasn't gotten a chance yet to review. I have to admit that I like to steer clear away from any Ginny/Harry or Ron/Hermione fanfictions for fear of having my 'image' of them distorted. But when a fellow fanfiction reader and writer recommended this on their site, I couldn't resist taking a peek. And to tell you the truth, from the very beginning, I was hooked. I absolutely love your characterization. The story line behind it all is also really great. I can't wait until your next update!

Harry is a git. A complete git. You do a wonderful job of putting the reader in Ginny's shoes and making them understand exactly why Ginny is just so frustrated and angry. Their fights are never petty or trivial. They are fights than need to happen and SHOULD happen. I am so glad Harry overheard what Ginny said to Ron, because honestly, this was something he needs to hear, both in canon and fanon. I am telling you, reading this part practically made me want to cheer. And I am SO glad that Ginny isn't being soft on him, because he doesn't deserve it. You've done an incredible job with this and I cannot wait for the next chapter.

Have you given any thought to writing certain scenes from this story in Harry's POV? Not everything, but just things like the fights with Ginny and the D.A party. That would be fantastic.

That has got to be my favorite chapter so far. I loved Ginny's fight with Harry. It shows that she isn't just a little gorl who is going to go along wit everything Harry says or thinks. I loved it. Update soon!
