This was a very good story but that ended when they received Bennet's letter trying to justify his actions of Elizabeth's marriage to Darcy and they bringing him to Darcy house. Suddenly the indolent cynical twit is talking about Darcy's pride yet Darcy has more honor and integrity in his little toe as compared to Bennet. The end where even Lydia looked up to Darcy for fatherly approval said it all.

Bennet was an indolent and negligent husband and father for over 20 years. The story would have been a lot better if Bennet didn't re-enter the Darcy lives to play father again and live in luxury with them.
