![]() ![]() ![]() Why doesn't he use the strengthening ritual himself instead of just trying to buff neville |
![]() ![]() ![]() Too much character development in too little time passed. Ron progressed way too fast, so did Hermione and Neville to a lesser extent. Tracy, on the other hand, seems barely involved. If you space out progress in disciplines and diversify the projects, you could solve all the situations over the 1st 5 years rather than making leaps and bounds in one or two areas in a single year. This could lead to more realistic development and let time pass fast enough to be done with HP plot when he finally can go to Ciri's world. At the pace you've set Harry will be crossing worlds midway through 4th year, be able to cure everything, create homonculi, philosophal stones and all before he reaches 15. There's little challenge left for that kind of protagonist unless you decide to follow in the steps of garbage anime and just make the villains overpowered to stay relevant. I loved reading about Dumbledore and Snape going down to the chamber of secrets and dirtying their own hands for once, this is too rare. Dumbledore actually moved his butt cheeks from his armchair and was the one to duel Voldy in years 1 and 2 and he faced the basilisk. |
![]() ![]() ![]() "I doubt you understand the gravity of a wandmaker offering to teach his craft to another Harry so I shall inform you, that was a very BIG deal." Albus immediately told him. Harry's eyes widened. "Truly?" "Indeed. Gerrick hasn't offered an apprenticeship in close to fifty years if my memory serves me correctly. He is an indisputable master of the field the likes of which is rarely seen. I would advise you to truly take such an offer under consideration." Dumbledore counseled. Harry nodded much more seriously than he had been. He would indeed consider the offer though he was less interested in wand lore than some other personal projects he had. - Oooh, intriguing. Oh, Harry figures out why Ciri can't use magic regular. And shares his time in diagob alley. |
![]() ![]() Please continue this |
![]() ![]() ![]() Thank you for everything you’ve written. Thoroughly enjoyable story just as much as much as everything else of yours I’ve read. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Theoretically, don’t the Greengrasses need to cast the ritual on both daughters as well? |
![]() ![]() ![]() Stories that treat Ron well are uncommon. It is refreshing. |
![]() ![]() ![]() You write lonely, weak Harry well. So well I’m hoping to move past this phase and into the OP Harry of Dragon and Swallow soon. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Oh, Ciri and Harry have a deeper connection. Maybe soul mates, or super friends. Either way, it's intense stuff. Harry makes major progress with occulmency |
![]() ![]() ![]() A little lesson taught by Minerva and Harry chatting either Ciri. Just best pals |
![]() ![]() ![]() Yikes. Harry overworks himself, but finally tells Albus about Ciri, who gives him hope to be able to go to another world. And Ciri reveals Geralt got her now to safety. |
![]() ![]() ![]() "You actually made a ward without a wand…" "Well, I don't have a wand yet. Albus says I need to be eleven before I can get my own." Harry said back easily. Minerva just looked at him slowly and he suddenly felt as if he were being eyed by a predator like a bunny in front of the eyes of an eagle. He felt himself shrink into himself at the look but he didn't move. "You can consciously perform wandless magic?" "Well yes… Did Albus not tell you that?" Harry asked as he squirmed at the scrutiny he was now being placed under. "As a matter of fact, he did not. Did he tell you how rare that was?" "He mentioned how hard it was for kids to learn magic before eleven because it wasn't stable enough and how methods to try and train them to do so were outlawed a long time ago for the danger and low success rate. He said it was fine if I already knew how to do it though as no one had broken the law by training me to do it." Harry responded as best he could. "I'm not speaking of just children Harry. Even most adults cannot perform wandless magic. And the ones who can barely are able to manage a few basic spells. I myself only know a few tricks and the person who I believe knows the most is Dumbledore. Even his ability in the field is quite limited. Being able to perform magic without a wand is an extremely special ability." She said clearly doing her best to press the importance of it on him. "Oh." Was all Harry could think to say back. Already, he felt his mind start thinking about possibilities on why it would be so hard for others to perform wandless magic. "Why can't others perform wandless magic?" - Ooh. I wondered when you would get to this. A shocker for Minerva after a charm and wards lesson. And Minerva astounded by Harry doing wandless already. Albus seems to get along with Harry, he loves to learn Oh, ciri is in trouble abd Harry wants to help her. The feels. |
![]() ![]() ![]() "A wizard, not a sorcerer?" He couldn't help but ask. In Ciri's world, magic users were usually called Sorcerers/Sorceresses. "Not quite no." The man answered with a kind, amused smile. "What's the difference?" Harry asked not being able to help himself. This was the first time he could truly discuss magic with anyone except Ciri and he could already feel the excitement brimming. "Well, that would depend on who you asked. Most people in our world today would tell you that they are the same thing and that the word sorcerer is just another word for a wizard that is older and has, for the most part, fallen out of use save for a few old titles it is part of. A few, however, will tell you that a sorcerer was a common term for magic users a couple of millennia ago that had a few notable differences from wizards, mainly that they used motions and gestures instead of wands and other focal points to use magic. Once wands became the norm though, the term wizard was instead created and became the more common term. Soon sorcerers as they were known died out and the name simply became synonymous with wizard." The man explained to him with his soft smile still plastered on his face. - I love explanations of this kind. Love exposition. Well, Harry doesn't have to go back toothed dursleys, but he did curse petunia, do he has to be careful. And he loves in Potter manor. Nice. Well, Altus is making amends now. |
![]() ![]() ![]() "She left us! She betrayed all of us to go run off in her little fairy world! She had no problem forgetting about us. All she cared about were her freak friends, and her freak school! She forgot about us and then got herself killed!" She yelled at him. Harry felt something warm and wet near his eyes and he could feel his hands starting to shake as he became hung up on one particular thing she mentioned. "She died… How did she die?" Harry whispered as he looked at his aunt. He was always told his parents died in a drunk driving accident. His aunt just stared at him but said nothing. At this point he stood up and stared at her. He could feel heat all around him and it almost felt suffocating. "Answer me." Harry yelled at his aunt. "She and your father were killed by some sort of Dark wizard…" She finally said while looking down. Harry felt like he had just been slapped in the face as he fell back in his chair and reeled from the information he just received. He had spent years… Years! Believing that his parents had died from being drunks only to learn this. And all this because his aunt had grown to hate her sister out of jealousy. - Oh damn. Things get intense and Harry runs away from...hell. Oh drama. And just after Harry affirmed his friendship with Ciri. |
![]() ![]() ![]() "You know… Sorcerers who specialize in illusions, if they get good enough with them, can even make illusions that are so powerful that the illusions can even become their own reality." Ciri told him. Harry blinked at that. "What do you mean?" "Well… I was asking Ermion and he mentioned illusions by a sorcerer he knew that was so powerful he could even make a hidden illusionary world that he could go into and he could interact with the world like it was a real world." Ciri told him. At that, Harry felt himself stiffen and pay more attention to what Ciri was saying. "Did he say or possibly give a hint on how to do so?" Harry asked quickly. Ciri frowned and looked up in thought. "I'm not sure, exactly. I also think it depends if you use a focal point or not. It has something to do with layering, I believe." "Layering… Layering, how?" Harry pushed but not too much, not wanting to sound impatient with his friend. "Like… Layering the reality you create over the current reality? I don't know more than that though and it's kind of hard to explain. Ermion said it wasn't really his field of expertise so even he wasn't wholly sure on the specifics himself." Ciri admitted. - I remember that guy. Harry could have his own private world in his cupboard. And hey, thanks to the illusion magic, he's able to eat at dinner with the dursleys. And he goes out to sword fight. Awww. Stroking each others hair, cute. |
