Reviews for Mr Monk and the Tangled Web |

idablue04 chapter 4 . 10/25/2021 Jorge is definitely the nucleus here. For the time being at last. I'm sure he knows what at least happened to his cousin. Poor Eddie, he did seem like a really good guy trying to look out for his cousin. Ambrose is getting married? Not sure how I feel about that. Seems awfully quick. I'm sure Monk has some concerns. There is so much going on. This has a lot or turns. Stay tuned! |
KittyKat06 chapter 3 . 10/25/2021 Monk's charm-bracelet gift to Natalie was so sweet xD And look at Monk, buying a blender for Natalie for her birthday (they just have to watch out for those bees! :p) and putting together a breakfast picnic date for Natalie to replace the birthday dinner that got interrupted. He's really grown so much, but he's still the same Monk, and the napkins are a perfect example. Ha! That was classic Monk, and I love how Natalie (mostly) rolls with it. Monk is so much more nonchalant about some of his 'lesser' phobias, and it's so great to see :) I wonder how long it took Monk to get past the asymmetry of the charm-bracelet having nine charms instead of ten :D HA! at Randy's back-and-forth with Monk about Monk getting lucky. LMAO. "It wasn't luck, it was all carefully planned. / Whatever works for you guys." I know Monk didn't quite get it, but Randy did, and it made me laugh so hard. I love where you're taking Randy and Monk's relationship. We never got them working together or interacting much one-on-one in canon, it was all through Leland and there was always that undercurrent of summering jealousy on Randy's end, but I love to see them working together here. I like seeing Randy making sure Monk gets the respect he deserves, bringing him in on interviews and letting him take lead on talking to Luke prior to his official interview statement. I just really like to see this version of their relationship after canon. My ears perked up at the mention of the neighbors with the dog knocking on Eddie's door soon after if not the time of the murder. Ryan Hayes said later in his interview that all of the neighbors are good people and look out for each other, but according to what Randy said the neighbors knocked but didn't go in even after hearing no answer from Eddie and hearing back-patio footsteps and a rustling in the trees. I'm keeping an eye on them for now. This is the second mention of Eddie's cousin Jorge and Eddie trying to keep him off the path of going into the gang life. Hm. And there's a cop in San Fran. who was in Luke/Eddie's recovery group. THAT is interesting. Ask Leland, maybe he knows something. Hm. Ryan Hayes asked Molly an awful lot of questions about Sophia and Hannah. Also, Molly? Uh, as the pseudo-stepdaughter of noted detective Adrian Monk, and the wife of a man who is currently in the middle of being interviewed because he found a dead body, she's being very forthcoming with information about her family including Monk and Natalie to Hayes, someone that is also being interviewed as a potential person of interest. Just saying. You'd think she'd know better by now... ("The news of her [Hannah's] death seems to have really upset him." xD. Understatement major, Molly. Lol) |
alex hoodle chapter 3 . 10/24/2021 Whoa... Sweet Beginning & Intriguing Ending. Great Work! |
KittyKat06 chapter 2 . 10/23/2021 Luke and Molly have been together for a couple of years at this point and she never told him that she was the one to not only find Hannah but that she was indirectly what led Monk and Natalie to adopt Sophia? That is very interesting, indeed, and worth filing away for later. Especially considering Luke told Molly about his addiction. Monk's reaction was what I expected and I was impressed that he was self-aware later with Natalie to say he knows he's sometimes critical and unapproachable :) Loved that he remembered the coffee cup on Eddie's table. How far away is San Mateo from San Francisco? Eddie had a photo shoot in San Fran, according to the café owner's wife, and if he had time after he was going to see his cousin. Luke talked to Eddie two hours before he died but he didn't say house phone or cell phone. Eddie's body was found in San Mateo. Now I'm wondering (a) did someone follow him from San Fran? or (b) did he ever make it to San Fran in the first place? Monk is totally like me ordering food and making modifications :D Hee. It's why I do a lot of food ordering online because I don't like feeling like I'm judged. (Is Monk allergic to tomatoes here? In the first-season episode when he got sent to the asylum it said in his medical file he was allergic to tomatoes but in one of the episodes in the later years he loved the square ones.) |
thesunisup chapter 3 . 10/23/2021 A "breakfast-nic", what a wonderful plan, sometimes the simplest ideas are the better. Adrian can be the sweetest and romantic man on the planet, if he want to. He has chosen a very significant gift and beautiful words of love. Why all these questions about Sophia and Hannah? I hope it's not what I think it is. Gripping story as usual. |
idablue04 chapter 3 . 10/23/2021 Uh oh, something to do with Sophia after all. Geez, this can be devastating for their family. Wow, your stories get better and better. I just hope their is a happy ending after all of this. |
KittyKat06 chapter 1 . 10/22/2021 Randy's reaction to finding out that he inadvertently ruined Monk/Natalie's date is so like him I cracked up laughing. ("Well, I guess this is my birthday present, you get to work with ME!" Please don't ever change, Randy.) I'm also impressed that he remembered what day Natalie's birthday was without being told. And I really, really need to see that scene of Randy/Sharona keeping Sophia and the baby for a night. A toddler, a one year old that's starting to walk, and an infant. That should be fun xD I'm already finding it interesting that Eddie was found almost a full twenty-four hours after he was killed and that the killer knew enough about the home robberies to be able to copycat certain aspects of it (not very well, obviously, but it was an attempt :p) The bolt-cut-out man-shaped hole in the fence is interesting. Surely someone saw the guy do that? It's an interesting touch that Luke found the body. In other notes, I loved the callback to Shelby the dog (and, uh, Monk doesn't seem too opposed to getting one, someday, just sayin.') and Julie/Sophia pigging out on leftover birthday cake on their sister sleepover night made me smile :D Has Sof spent the night before at Julie's apartment? PS: Glad to know that Antonio's still exists in this world, even if it's under new management. |
idablue04 chapter 2 . 10/21/2021 Good chapter. I hope Monk can move past his uncomfortableness with Luke. I know he holds those close to him on a higher statue. Luke and Molly have so much respect for him and don't want to see disappointment in him. Really have no clue where this story may be going, just hope it has nothing to do with Sophias absent biological family showing up. |
alex hoodle chapter 2 . 10/21/2021 Very Informative Chapter, Not Gonna Lie, I Had My Hands Interlaced At The Back Of My Head Nervous To Read Adrian's Response To Luke's Bit Of News. I Thought " Oh No, Monk's Going To Explode" (Insert Grimace)We'll See If This Is Truly A Non-Issue. This Man Still Has A Thing Against " Hippies" So We'll See. Great Job! |
Guest chapter 2 . 10/21/2021 I have always enjoyed your stories and I look forward to seeing what you have planned for the Monk family this time. |
thesunisup chapter 1 . 10/20/2021 Welcome back! I'am thrilled to read your new fanfiction. I appreciate them all very much. An intriguing first chapter. No time to enjoy a romantic dinner for our beloved couple, what a pity! Perfect timing Randy! Sophia is so smart and charming, the interaction with her daddy is adorable. Timothy is a sweet baby too, and apparently he looks a lot like his dad. |
alex hoodle chapter 1 . 10/19/2021 Uhhh...Monk How Long's It Been Man? All Keyed Up Over Here. This Man Wants Six Hundred Kids...Even! Hahaha. Listen Monk Is The Man And I Love Natalie, She's The Dream Wife For Monk All Day To Me, I'm All In, All The Time, But You Open With Them Babies? Automatic Five Stars. Let's See What's Up. Let's Go Monk! Great Start! |
idablue04 chapter 1 . 10/19/2021 So looking forward to this saga. Sophia is really growing up and asking the "why" questions. She is also being an attentive big sister. Baby Timothy is reserved like his dad. So good to see Monk and Natalie keeping their relationship romantic, at least trying to. I just hope Luke isn't involved in this murder someway. Such a great start! |
