Note for potential readers: this might not be the fic for you if you want something fast paced or action packed.

Anyways onto my review: Normally for stories with similar settings authors resort to simplifying the MC's personality and making the traumatized MC mope (for lack of better term) for 10-20 chapters while some romantic interest/friend breaks through emotional barriers to force a healing arc, to put it simply. I'm glad that isn't the case for this story. This certainly isn't the happiest story out there but neither is it depressing. Characters are flawed but there's no rush to "fix" anyone.

The characters here are written wonderfully complex: even for someone as contradictory as Oberon you managed to pinpoint his personality and thoughts perfectly. The pacing is slow enough to allow readers to explore these thoughts thoroughly but don't drag on for so long the scenes overstay their welcome. And the subtle, wistful mood present throughout is just the cherry on top. There's more I want to write and I'm sure I could have conveyed things better but I think I'm rambling now.

tldr; unique characters in a unique story executed perfectly.

Hopefully you'll come back to this story sometime in the future and we will be able to witness the one scene you wrote this entire fanfic for. I also eagerly await any of the other stories you planned.

Unfortunately, I think the moment Oberon acknowledges the importance of someone to him is the moment the world itself may twist it into a lie, that was especially true in Fairy Britain. Here, it still may be true due to the Oberon part of his spirit origin. Vortigern lies by circumstance/context, Oberon lies in general, but truth slips out with the Vortigern aspect, mostly on the account of "I don't care" being the feelings, allowing it to slip out in a sort of exhausted state, perhaps

I hate how all the goods 1s never actually finish, I can count on 1 hand the stories that are actually good and I enjoy that finished on 1 hand and it's honestly annoying...hope you are doing well and hope you come back, we need more good stories.

Damn I really wished this story continues.
Okay I felt very weird reading the story. Oberon's fairy eyes that discern truth just made me feel weird. That is until I read Asia's part regarding how she willingly aided a devil with malice towards her, for a very selfish reason. That's when I realized I was thinking of Artoria Avalon. She also possessed fae eyes, yet she did not mention anything regarding Oberon? It's quite suspicious. Does this imply a form of role reversal where the bad guy for some reason purpusfully empower the hero (most notorious would be Bleach)? I feel that it's a strange contradiction in the story where her eyes failed, unless she knew Oberon's objective and knowing her objective she still allowed him to progress.
Regardless I do hope we see an Oberon with the will to live.
Oh, and I do wonder if koneko is bianca reborn or something. Who knows

This is gold. It's well written and does the character of Oberon almost scarily well. While I understood the subtext, due to who Oberon is I found I just couldn't trust it. The author notes helped a lot (in that I was right, it was his true feelings but lied to prevent them from being true).
I think it's refreshing whenthe story diviates attention from Rias. It's a good way to explore the world and is refreshing considering dxd fanfics usually focus on boobs more than anything else.
Oberon is so fricking awesome. He really stole the show (pun intended) and is a perfect example of why Fate despite being so contrived is so loved for thr amazing complex characters.

I had been thinking for a while that Oberon at least as the insect of abyss is literally an appocalytic beast similar to Trihexa.
