Am I the only one who finds this ending... A little sad?

Kind of an inconclusive ending, with the usual assortment of loose ends. Not even a mention of Jaune's family?

Blake and Yang seem to be a pretty unhealthy relationship. The comment that Blake was mourning Adam for a long time was the first indication that they were anything more than colleagues in this one.

Summer Jr seems more like the original Ruby than her actual reincarnation does. A crossbow-scythe does sound pretty badass, though.

"Having a dad with two souls was a little odd, but Summer had gotten used to it through exposure, and now enjoyed having a grandpa as well as a dad." You made me think Taiyang had died offscreen or something.

Somehow, the end of the chapter makes me doubt Ruby and Jaune's commitment to only having the one kid. Plap plap.

You're probably right - you could have afforded to play more fast and loose with the lore, like in Invicta. It might have let you reach a more satisfying conclusion than "Exit Salem, stage left".

Its bad enough to be a regular Immortal, watching people pass, seeing the world go by, the tragedy of living through the horrors of life again and again and again. And that's not even counting a millennial war against a monster who commands creatures of darkness. Its a wonder canon Ozpin hadn't yet gone insane (then again, perhaps he had, in his own way). Add in the torture and trauma of this world on top of that, and Ozma is doing his best, but its a hopeless battle. And unlike what I might have expected, it continues to be as much going forward. Your story title makes an uncomfortable, chilling sense now.

Still, ending on a reasonably happy note, the threat a distant one, and a new generation preparing to deal with it. An Eternal Crown does also mean an eternal chance to, if not directly participate (and I'm sure Ozma would rather not anyway) at least share in some of the joys that come from living a life. Family, children, teaching. Seeing civilization rise as much as fall. So, some perks at least.

I'd love to see a sequel to this, perhaps sometime after RWBY canon establishes how Salem can die. Perhaps it can be incorporated, explain how she came into power. Perhaps the Destruction Relic. But for now, with this finale: Excellent story, great premise, four out of five kingdoms agree (and nobody likes Vacuo anyway).

This story was a great read, I think my only critique would have been closure for Jaune. I personally love it when you involve his family in stories.

The exact reasoning at the end of this chapter is why I say you should take less stories XD. More time to think through each chapter leads to more quality stories overal, but congratulations on getting through another one coeur cant wait for your next one.

I’m sorry, it might not be a thing yet, or I might have somehow missed it, but where the fuck did Cinder go? Literally last time I saw her was (I think) at the tournament, and if not then, when she sliced Jaune to check for Aura. What the hell has she been doing, if I didn’t just miss her death? Or yet to come, perhaps. We’ll see?

Wow, almost 2 years exactly for this to finish. It's like losing a friend. It did admittedly feel a little formulaic but it was still such a good story! To me, it didn't take away from what was good about it at all, so don't beat yourself up over it. Adventurous and challenging for the characters. I'm glad Juane got his happy ending. He deserved it. Loved that Ruby and Juane weave magic into their daily lives with their child, in a positive way. And Ozma finally got to win again and is better set up for the future that awaits him in a new host. The only thing I can nitpick about is that Juane's family wasn't mentioned again. Did they all die in the war? Was he able to see them again now that he isn't on the run anymore? Other than that, I absolutely loved reading this every week. Thank you for another story.

yeah youre having a problem ending a story i think, this and invicta had a great premise but it ended very... mediocrely. this should have been an au as you said, and im still distressed at the lack of explanation regarding invictas history. im genuinely worried for arc corp now.

I enjoyed it, if not a little predictable, wasn't my favourite but still a good read. Honestly the idea of a Sequel to this setting leaves me more interested... the school days of Summer Arc making friends and getting into trouble with Menagerie becoming one of the biggest players on Remnant; maybe leading some Faunus Supremacy vibes as their success and pride goes to their heads? Vacuo plotting in the corner of the world as Salem's Faithful... after all she promised the Grimm wouldn't interfere... never said Vacuo wouldn't cause a mess and pave the way for her return. Maybe Ozpin ends up in someone from Vacuo after Jaune gets assassinated and "Not-Beacon" is hit by Vacuo Terrorists? Has to somehow get out of the kingdom now at war and marching into Vale? Signs up to the army as a means of escape perhaps? Summer Arc gets visits her dads family? Choices Choices...

This might've set the stage for something cool? Just my thoughts - I wager you've your own plans :)
