![]() ![]() ![]() So, your author notes here state that the Jeyne Westerling plot is dumb because Tywin would not be able to predict the series of events that would lead to Robb sleeping with Jeyne, but I think what actually happens is Jeyne's mother is the one that makes sure that Jeyne is left alone with Robb, which should not have happened, and Jeyne's mother took advantage of what Robb did. Tywin didn't plan anything there, only took advantage. |
![]() ![]() Jon could also use bellis perennis - the humble daisy! Something else from Roman history and warfare. It's sadly overlooked as a herbal remedy but there is so much history associated with this pretty little Aster. It was given names like bruisewort and woundwort and Roman soldiers would soak bandages in an infusion of daisies - making use of their astringent properties to encourage wounds to stop bleeding. It can easily be infused in oil to use on bruises and wounds. It grows abundantly in grassy areas so Jon should see plenty of this in local green spaces to whether he is with the army. A great plant for the herbal first aid kit! I love Ser Brynden in this story, he's such a great character. |
![]() ![]() Have to say, when I read the part of "Then Jaime Lannister dismounted from his horse", I felt my breath catch, it was such a powerful and evocative phrase. Brilliant. |
![]() ![]() Jon hatte auf dem Weg nach Oldtown abhauen mü hilft er den Starks immer noch? |
![]() ![]() ![]() Blackwood castle is called Raventree hall not Blackwood hall. |
![]() ![]() ![]() What a fuckin ride this has been. I can't decide what I enjoyed more, the actual story or the info dumps at the end of each chapter. love to see it, hope the sequel lives up to its predecessor |
![]() ![]() The English longbow, the nomad's composite bow, or any other bow is not capable of penetrating good plate armor even 1 mm thick. The penetrating power of an arrow is simply not enough. But the arrow's power is enough to kill a horse, which is what happened during their debut. There is evidence that even peasants in their fabric armor came out of battle covered in arrows like hedgehogs, but had no wounds. Therefore, bows do not have any super-powerful properties that make them a kind of panacea for everything. In addition to the complexity of making, transporting, storing bows, there was also the complexity of making arrows. In general, arming archers was far from the cheapest pleasure. In addition, there are biological limitations. A person simply physically cannot pull the bowstring stronger than a certain limit, so for the most part it does not matter whether the longbow is made of weirwood or not, if a person is simply not able to pull it stronger. Therefore, its penetrating ability is also limited. We must also understand that metallurgy at the time of the spread of the longbow was crap. At that time, the best armor a knight could count on was a good chainmail with additional metal plates, made of iron with a lot of slag. This imposed its own peculiarities, because if an arrow hit a ring with a lot of slag, the armor would be pierced. Although the arrow could be stopped by the underarmor. |
![]() ![]() ![]() To anyone reading this review, I highly recommend reading this story. I haven’t read the books, I only watched the show, but this was still an incredible fan fic. 10/10, I can’t wait to get started on the sequel |
![]() ![]() ![]() This honestly might be the best fanfics I’ve ever read. So good |
![]() ![]() ![]() One of the best ASOIF stories on this site, I'm glad I got the chance to reread it before starting the sequel. I'm still confused as to why the original was deleted. |

![]() ![]() ![]() I was not intending to read this story for a fifth time but it jumped out at me from my download list and here I am again. You have a gift! Little words and phrases throughout the story really brought the characters to life. Thank you for taking your time to write this amazing story! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Just reread it. Still fantastic, one of the best ASOIAF fics and IMO the best AU one. And OWWD is just as great. I don't mind being patient as you find time and inspiration to continue that one. They both get regular recs on The Citadel subreddit. Happy Friday! |
